Averting Absent -mindedness

You are thinking about something else - you are most likely to forget things. In order to avert absent-mindedness ,alertness of mind is to be cultivated. Those who have forgetfulness to an excessive level are not welcomed in societal circles because they are sure to disregard important issues that require close attention.

Sometimes it's not just a matter of being less than alert. In the fast paced world in which we live today, it is very easy to forget some things, as hundreds of other things compete for our attention. While being alert is important, people should not be faulted for forgetting things every once in a while. After all, no one is perfect!

Yes, you're right. However, one must understand that a person might be going under excessive levels of stress or depression because of which the mind of the person cannot work properly. A person should generally try to cultivate alertness of mind, however, if its not helping, people shouldn't dislike him.

Yeah, you are right there, my friend. Sometimes it is unavoidable. Your mind likes to wonder and that is just a part of being human.

Hey S794, You know what I have a friend who is menatlly impaired & they don't socialize for just that reason.They get the feeling ppl won't approve of them b/c they don't have the ability to pay attention for long or remember things said even 5 minutes ago. It's one thing to be rude & daydream but there are exceptions we all should try to look @ the person behind the attitude before we pass judgement. +'s 2 U :D

Hello sukumar. I don't think anyone likes to have this forgetfulness thingy unless they make it a habit to be like that. If I'm under a lot of stress or lack the proper sleep, I tend to be absent minded too. Observing a healthy lifestyle, getting enough sleep and reading books can help keep your focus in shape. Even old age shouldn't be a detrimental factor to being forgetful.

Sir, I am in the category you are noting. It happened to me many times that sometimes I may get a phone call and I may say "please wait for a while, let me check the file". But during checking the files, some other persron may call my attention to some other aspect and it happened that I forgot the man at the end of the telephone. I am trying "yoga' but it is also becoming regularly , irregular due to my other engagements.
