How important is nap to you?

China

Taking a nap after lunch every day is very important for me, without which I would feel lackadaisical for the rest of the day and would be unable to work effectively. I have formed this habit of taking a nap for many years. Do you have to take a nap to make you energetic?

No, I never really need or want to nap. I make sure my body gets enough sleep on a regular basis.

Till I reached the age of 55, I was not taking afternoon nap. Most of the time I used to spend outside my residence. Now I am taking 30 minutes afternoon nap, which helps me work till 8 p.m. in the night.

It shows that you have been an energetic man. That is great. But a nap really helps you recover from your tiredness and makes you more effective and productive in your work. Happy napping, friend.

It is possible to have a nap in the afternoon, because my office is attached to my house. If I have to travel for long distance, it is not proper to take a nap in the office, unless I am the boss.

It is cool to have your office close to where you live so that you can have an afternoon nap. I think that you can be your own boss to take a nap most of the time. You decide it. lol

I cannot take after noon naps, since that was the time I am busy in my office. But, my mom who is a home maker has to have a nap in the afternoon to get going with more enthusiasm. It's a matter if habit. Sleeping at night for 6-7 hours is very important to recharge the battery. Or else I end up having a bad day altogether. I think, sleeping is very important when we get rid of our toxic wastes and become fresh. Thanks.

Hello mimpi. You are right that sleeping is very important. If I do not have a good sleep, I will be very exhausted the next day. Taking a nap after lunch before going to the office for my afternoon work is a habitual action of mine. I don't need to sleep long, but a short while so long as I fall asleep for a little while. But if I don't have to go work, I sleep longer like one or two hours, especially when it is hot weather, not this cold weather that we are having now. Thank you for your response and I am sorry that I did not respond to you earlier, but a year later. Take care and keep warm in winter, mimpi.

Hello beyonce. It is now one year after since I found that I had not responded to your response to my discussion. I hope that you do not mind about it. So I guess that you are now busy with your taking care of your baby. It is the same with my wife when she has her baby, taking good care of him without having enough time to rest and sleep. So a good sleep or nap is really of great importance to us. Take care, friend.

I know having a nap at noon is very important. You will have more energy to work in the afternoon. However, I don't have a nap at noon because I don't think the time is enough for me. I need a sleep rather than a nap:) Since I have to work, so I skip it and stay in Mylot:)

Hello youless. A nap is of great importance to me as I don't feel so good without taking a nap, but like you, I also post a few responses before going to bed for a nap. See you, friend.

First off all, a heavy hi to you my freind! I am also like you. I am also not able to work properly without a small nap. No matter wether I take it in the morning, afternoon or in the evening. Since I am a student and in bodybuilding too, more and more rest is recomended to me. Taking rest relaxes my muscles that gives me a better shape and size of muscles. So basicaly, my main motive behind taking a small nap is my bodybuilding. Also, sometimes when I am very very tired, I just take a small nap to feel a little bit more energized and more fresh... I have heard that taking a small nap in afternoon is good for your health also. So, I think we must all take it!

The truth about naps as far as am concerned is that I never got tuned to the habit as a child because as children,we had permanent responsibilities of lookinga after the goats and sheep and as shepherds, you simply dont have time for any nap, yours is to be alert and watchful, lest the animals get lost or eaten by willd animals.

Hello dear academic friend. Yes, I can see your situation that you had to look after the goats on the hill and had no time to take a nap. I like that kind of life that you had as a child. I think that it is fun with the goats in the wild place. But do you still have to look after the goats now, please? Thanks for your response, dear friend.

I take a nap in between work in front of computer. Other than that I only need orange juice after lunch or any meal to get my brain going. It's been a while since I work full time so I don't remember how it felt after lunch and not taking a nap. Now I have my own business and work part time I don't feel as tired anymore unless I work on computer the whole day. Maybe if you don't have time for nap, at least eat the right lunch meal. let me see if I still have the name of a certain meal that helps you reenergize

I do not take nap after lunch. Since I was a working lady, there was no opportunity to take a nap in the afternoon. If I am not well, then I will sleep for half-an-hour in the noon, may be due to the effect of the tablets.

Hello dear Buchi_bulla. I am sorry that you do not have time enough to take a good nap because of the nature of your work. I guess that maybe you are used to not having a nap. Thanks very much for your response, my dear friend.

I accept that the nap is important. However, I can't have a nap at noon because I have to work. Besides, I'd like to use this time to do something like posting in Mylot or checking the smartphone software websites. If I have a nap, perhaps it means I am feeling sick.

Hello youless. So I am glad to know that you don't usually need to have a nap unless you have to when you do not feel well. But to me, a nap is some kind of enjoyment as I always feel sleepy after lunch. I guess that I worked in a firm, I would have to get rid of the 'nap' habit like most people do in a company. lol. Thanks for dropping in for the discussion, dear youless.

No I am not a napper. My energy is pretty consistent throughout the day and I do not feel the need for naps. When I have slept in the afternoon or evening it throws my natural sleep cycles off. Different things suit different people and we all have to do what works best for us! Raia

Hello my dear perspective friend. Sometimes if I sleep too long for the nap, I find it hard for me to fall asleep at night, but not always. I still love to take a nap especially during the hot summer and cool autumn and warm spring. I sleep less after lunch when the weather is very cold, but it is still a pleasure for me to stay in my warm bed after I turn on my electric blanket. Thanks so much for the response. Williamjisir.

It brings back my energy. taking a nap takes a lot of stress and tiresme out of me. It really relaxes me and makes me renew my strength to go on with my daily tasks. If I find time, I take a nap even just for few minutes.

Hello dear izathewzia. Yeah, taking a nap is really of great importance to many people as it helps refreshes us and gives us much more energy. Sometimes if I do not have enough time to sleep, I would like to take a fifteen-minute nap in the hope that I can fall asleep and it helps me a lot if I do fall asleep within the short time. Thanks for your response very much.

Right. Sleep is really a luxury to us especially when we have to work hard for hours using too much of our brain and our strength, both mentally and physically.

So it is good that you don't need to have a nap, which partly shows that you are still energetic after morning work and can work effectively in the rest of the day. By the way, sometimes I also have the problem that you have mentioned here. That is when I take a nap in the afternoon and when I have to get up, I wake up with headache and sometimes I find it very hard to get up as if my head were absorbed by some force from the pillow. That kind of feeling is too bad. I don't like it at all and I still don't feel good for the rest of the day if that kind of case should happen to me.

This is really a very good habit.I "envy" your habit very much.Although we have half an hour to have lunch and have a rest in our company.we also have many things to do,I find half an hour can not enough. So we are always tired after lunch. The efficient work is impossible. Have a good time, my dear friend.

Hello dear yaq. I am sorry that you don't have enough time for a nap and rest as you are always so busy in the company. It would be great if the company could spare you like two hours' rest after lunch every day. For sure you would get more energetic each day and work would be efficient. Thanks so much for your response, dear friend.

I alwayssss have to take a nap! It's like I wake up early in the morning, go to a few classes for the day and have to come right back and nap! Maybe it's the boring professors that do it to me. But without a nap I'd be pretty un-productive at work without a nap. and I thought I was the only one!
