If you are an erep you can log on to youravon.com and read the discussion boards there, theres lots of reps that have wonderful ideas. I recently did the "tossing" thing I'm not sure how I fell about this yet I tossed 50 old books on Sunday no one has called yet. I offer all new customers 10% off thier first order of $30 or more and I have put up some tear off flyers where you just simply put your number on the bottom of the flyer and cut between each one so people can tear it off and take it home to contact you. I also have put a lil sticker somewhere inside the book and wrote a note that says find the sticker for 10% off your order. I'm still new myself and no one has took me up on these offers yet but I just put them to work for me on Sunday so we shall see. I have read many many times that it sometimes takes up to 5 tried per customer to get them to order and that you have to follow up with each one each campaign. Hope these tips help. And I wish you the best of luck with your Avon business.

What I do when I toss is I use the whats new plastic bags I place my older books in these bags along with a sample and a note introducing myself I roll these bags up and tie them with a ribbon or place a rubber band around it and then go through neighborhoods tossing them under mailboxes or placing them on porches. I just did this Sunday with no orders yet but I only tossed about 50 books. I read that you will have to do this alot to the same houses before they will order. Hope this helps and good luck if you choose to try it. =)

It is nice to see people taking this kind of thing seriously Kimmijayne and I hope you get ideas! I do buy from Avon but only if there is something I need or really like, I buy it from a young student friend who has been selling it for years! The only advice I can think of is to just be pleasant and helpful to all your customers and try to build your reputation through word of mouth! Good Luck! xxx

customers have different preferences, and therefore need different sales approach. i think one of the key things i like about a sales talk or marketing is that when the product endorser is a living proof of the product itself. when you look good, feel good and doing good because of the product you are selling, you have a big selling point advantage. as an example, if somebody noticed your luscious lips and commented you on it... it's your sales cue... "it's by avon. try it." another person may comment "you look blooming today! what's your secret?". that's another sales cue... "avon does it to people... makes you feel and look good about yourself. try it." i don't like pushy people. i like gentle but confident approach who actually uses the products they sell. ;)
