Do you check for recalls on your kids toys, car seats, beds

How many of us check for recalls on our kids stuff. Do you check up on the toys they play with or the beds they sleep in? Most important do you check regularly on the status of their car seats? Call me crazy but I do for beds and car seats, toys not so much but thanks to my dad I have learned the value in doing that also. So do you check on these things?

It's been awhile, but I have specifically checked my son's car seat a couple of times. Should probably go look again to be sure. As far as his toys & furniture go; having had 3 children and babysat a few dozen more- I think I am pretty able to spot problems and to either dispose of or contact the company if something becomes unsafe.

I thought the same about my sons toys until this morning when my dad called to tell me about a Thomas the Tank Engine recall. It was for lead paint something you wouldn't see or notice until your children were sick. The affected toys where sold between 2005 and 2007 so its not like it was old toys its new ones, several of which my son has.

Oh that's scary- would you have a link for the recall? My son has dozens & dozens of Thomas trains, including the wood ones that are painted. And they were bought in that time period!

the link is www.recalls.rc2.com there aren't that many of the trains on recall. When my dad told me I thought how am I going to take he favorite toys away but it was only a few of the cars and I think his James and coal tendor. The colors in question seem to be red and yellow.

i've never done a recal before. i just here what they say on the news since they report it most of the time. normally, by boys don't have any of those things. but i just heard of the Wooden Thomas the Train James (red) recalls. my son has one of those so I gotta go check on those and see what i need to do.

Go to www.recalls.rc2.com for all recall information. My son has the caboose, the box car, the stop signs and railway crossing signs, the sodor cargo co. piece and I think his motorized James is the lights and sounds train that is on recall but I haven't gotten a hold of the company to find out.

thanks...i know they said just the red ones and we only have the wooden single trains. i prefer the plastic blue track for some reason. but thanks for the site, i'll check it out.

not usually, my mom let me know about an infant seat recall on tv and thank god she did as it was the seat we had. But when I called they told me mine was fine they were made prior to 2007.

I don't watch t.v. often so its a good thing my dad watches the news or I wouldn't know about some recalls.

I actually have this thing and I can't remember how I got it, but it emails me recalls on items I have for my daughter like her crib and swing and what not. Luckily I haven't had any issues yet.

Can you send us the link for it. It would save us all a lot of time and worry I think.
