I hate to unload my dishwasher!! ~~

I don't even know why. There are other worse things to have to do in the kitchen, but for some reason unloading the dishwasher is the most dreaded task for me. You would think I would love it because the dishes are clean and it is a sense of closure to have everything clean and put away. I think this stems from growing up when there were 6 of us living at home and we didn't have room in our cabinets for everything. I never knew where to put everything and if you didn't put things just right it all tumbled out at you. Even though I have very neat cabinets in my house today, with a place for everything, I hate dealing with it. Do you have a kitchen chore that you hate more than others? Do you know why you hate it so much?

I don't have one lol, but even he I go to a friend's house and she has a dinner party she is amazed when I just run to the kitchen and within half an hour all the stuff is clean..she says don't worry I will stick them in the dishwasher, I tell her by the time she does that I wiull have finished them,.then she makes me a cup of tea and tells me I am her best friend lol..I hate the idea of putting them in then taking them out..I have done them all by then lol..Don't you agree? I do wear gloves though if there is a massive pile..as it helps to keep the good old arthritis at bay..

I think you should feel lucky you have a dishwasher! My poor dish pan hands have to wash every single dish we got. I would love to be able to load a dishwasher, add soap, turn it on, and walk away! Instead I spend hours upon hours washing dish by dish. Ok I will admit, I wash all the plates, then take a break and play games on pogo or answer discussions on myLot, then back to the bowls, break time again, then glasses, then break time, last is the pans, counter tops, & stove. About 2-3 hours has gone by now....lol The one kitchen chore I hate is cleaning out the fridge. It can get so nasty when you got little ones that never know what they want and like to climb in to see as they knock some left-overs over and it spills everywhere. Yucky job!

I knew someone would write of their desire to have a dishwasher. Sounds like you have a good system down. I actually have fun cleaning out my refrigerator... I'm strange.

Isn’t that funny- unloading the dishwasher is one of my least favorite things to do also- I’m not even sure why- I don’t mind filling it- and I love to open it and see the dishes are clean- but putting them away is a pain- Same thing with laundry- I don’t mind washing the clothes and I love to hang them out to dry outside on the clothesline- I don’t like to take them down—I don’t mind folding them but I hate to put them away! I have 2 big baskets to put away when I get home today.

LOL - I have no problem unloading the dishwasher. The kitchen chore I hate most is washing dishes. Now since moving I actually have a dishwasher to use for the first time in 20 years and I love it - I'm doing dishes every day. Actually, after each meal I've been loading the dishes and then run the washer just once a day - this is just oh so much easier than hand washing.

I so agree with you. What typically happens in my house is that the dishwasher get run, then people start using the dishes out of the dishwasher instead of grabbing other dishes. So by the time the sink is starting to get filled with dishes, the dishwasher is half empty and needs to be reloaded.

If only I had a dishwasher life would be GRAND, ours currently does not work and the dishwasher in the house is ME and I do it several times a day. In the beginning I hated it, but now after 7 months I am getting used to it. My most dreaded chore will have to me mopping the granite floors in the house, which I usually do once a week or twice if I have the time or energy. It is hard, messy not a rewarding result at the outcome since it never sparkles like I think it should.

I don't have a dishwasher.Well, actually I do.When I moved I never hooked it up for one good reason.Gas and electric is high enough already.Increased 33% last year and just increased 50% this month.I don't mind doing the dishes but I do hate putting them away even though they are sitting out and look terrible.

I wonder why we hate to unload the dishwasher, it's probably the easiest thing to do, but everyone I know waits to empty it. It's a mystery to me. Personally I hate cleaning the bathrooms, yet I'm the one who usually takes on that task (unless my son is having friends over, then I make him clean his bathroom-which is the one in the hall that everyone who comes over uses, we just have always called it the kids bathroom, because they use it the most). I'm lucky though, my husband does a lot of the cleaning in our house, especially if he gets bored, he can't sit still and relax, he likes to be up and doing something, so I let him! lol

I think I hate everything to do with dishes. I hate washing them by hand. I hate loading the dishwasher and then unloading the dishwasher. Of course it is the one job that I really hate and it something that has to be done everyday.

I am with you on the dishwasher thing, I simply hate loading and unloading it. It always feels like such a waste of time. Howver, the thing I hate doing the most is cleaning the oven. I always can't breathe when I clean the oven because the spray takes my breath away. It is a tedious task. :( cheers,

I do not really hate any of my kitchen chores but if I had to choose it would be mopping the floor. It is time consuming more than anything to clean the floor. I would rather do the dishes and other chores in that room. Unloading the dishwasher is not a problem for me as long as the dishes came out clean. I hate the bathroom chores more than the kitchen chores.

I hate doing the clean up at all. I know it is because I always did it at home, and I felt banished, while all else watched TV, I was cleaning up the kitchen. I also lack organized space now, so that is also a problem. I feel isolated in the kitchen. Like I have been bad, like I am Cinderella. I would be very grateful if my prince would forget the glass slipper, and just take care of a glass or two.

I hate dishwashers lol! I know new technology has it so it gets more food off of the dishes, but you still have to scrape and rinse each plate off before you put it in. By that time I feel like I've done as much work as washing it, so why not just run the water and wash the dishes? I guess I'm just old fashioned. My grandmother bought a house about 4 years ago that has a dishwasher, and she has never used it for the same reason as mine. The only time I have ever used a dishwasher is when I was over a friends house and she had cooked for her entire family. I volunteered to do the dishes. Since there were so many, I loaded the dishwasher with some, and washed some by hand, just to make things go quicker. Take my advice, save some money on your electricity bill and do your own dishes!!!

I had the same problem as you but this past couple of years I have conquered that feeling of dread to unload the dishwasher. Well okay initially I still feel it but I say no this well be over in a jiffy. I truely am always amazed at how little time it takes and how little effort it was to do it. The way I first feel is OH NO the dishwasher I have to unload the dishwasher again. But really why do I do that it takes nothing to empty. So I am much better now. If only I could use that same positive thinking when it came to the laundry. Now that just kills me to do that. I am thankful hubby enjoys doing laundry and does it alot because he knows I hate it so much! LOL lucky me!
