I am always losing my crochet pins. I lost 2 in the last week. What do you do you do to keep from losing your pins?

I have a nice-sized tin that once held Pot of Gold chocolates that holds all my crochet hooks now. And the box is tucked away on a shelf in my craft closet. My knitting needles are kept in a juice jug that lost it's lid and they fit very well in that. I've crocheted hats, afghans, vests, sweaters, just about everything, but my favorite and constant project now is baby and doll sets. I sell them on different auction sites and they go very well for me.

That's a great storage idea.

I'm not sure what you mean by crochet "pins". Do you mean the hooks? Are you working with large or small hooks? I keep a mug full of pens and pencils on the lamp table by the chair where I sit to crochet. I keep my hooks in the mug too. So they are easy to find. If I'm taking my crochet with me somewhere I kind of weave it in and out of the stitches loosely so it doesn't drop out when I pick it up. Sometimes I just jab it into the skein of yarn when I'm interrupted and am coming back to it. I don't know that I've lost many hooks. I've given them away, however, and had to buy new ones. Some that I use were my mothers and are quite old. What do you like to crochet?

I meant crochet hooks. My mom call them crochet pins so I got it from her. I crochet blankets, bags, hats, baby booties. I want to try something different so I am thinking about a halter top for my neice something really simple.

I had to laugh at your question because I'm always losing mine and was almost going to post the same question. I'm always losing mine somewhere and replacing them with new ones. Then, when spring cleaning time comes, I find a bunch of them here and there. So I start off with a nice supply of multiples but in no time I'm scrambling to find a #7 or #12 so I can start a pattern!

I keep all my patterns in plastic covers for papers in a 3 ring binder. So I got a bag that is for pens and pencils int he school supplies that fits into the rings on a 3 ring binder and thats where I keep my hooks along with a small pair of scissors and needles. I like to crochet the baby items they're sooo cute, lately I've been into purses and scrunchies. And animals, I've made bunnies for my daughters and am crocheting a sock monkey for my nephews 1st birthday right now!

I got a zippered bag at the dollar store that really was intended as a small make-up bag. It is just the right size to hold all my hooks, plus some other stuff I need like safety pins, yarn needles, tape measure, and a small pair of scissors. I still misplace one every now and then, but this has really helped a lot.
