Have you only gone back as far as your great grand parents or have you gone further? Did you find anything interesting out about your family that you didn't know about? Are you related to someone famous you know maybe like Billy the Kid or Wyatt Earp?

I have researched my family tree back to the 1600's and I have found enough stuff to write a genealogical book on one side of my family.I have found more,so I will probably write a second book.I have found some things intresting, like one of my ancester's was a bigomist.Another went A-wall from the war and was sentence to road work and he worked building the road the I have driven on many, many times.Lol.I also found out that Iam eligible to join the DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution).Because one of my ancesters,John Follin was in the American Revolutionary war.

I know my family tree only up to my great-great-grandparents. I never asked for any further information because I beleive this is enough. I mean who needs to know more than this!?

Well,I guess it is your own personal need. When I started my research, family members would call me asking if I had found out this and that.Iam still trying to find out who the woman was that my grandmother had said was one of her grandmother's.I started 22 years ago and still don't know. But,know alot other stuff. But,if you are satisfied at where your at then fine.Iam having too much fun researching, meeting friends, learning history, etc.

Yeah it really depends on your own personal feelings. I would love to know about my family line. I do know that my last name is Sicilian however it originated from the French, so that kind of stuff is fun to find out about. I would love to know if there is someone famous in my family line so that is why I would go further with any research i've done.

We have quite a solid fam tree. it traces back to the french revolution. i have a few famous south african heroes in my fam and one president. paul kruger. no one famous from france way back. we were fleeing the country when they martyred people due to religion. but i guess i will never know unless we do dna tracing.

My mothers side of the family had their family tree researched as far back as Henry the VIII. I guess I know where my weight problem came from! I now want to trace my dad's side of the family. I find it all so interesting.
