Have you ever had just really awful pizza?

A few years ago, a new pizza place opened up in town. It touted that it made New York style pizza, which I just happen to really love (not easy to find in Iowa!). So we went and ordered a large pepperoni from there. The only thing that was like a New York Pizza was that it was thin. The pizza tasted HORRIBLE! It was incredibly salty! I couldn't tell if it was the crust or the sauce that was so salty, but I really wondered who told the couple that opened this place that they make such good pizza that they should open a restaurant. They closed about 2 months after they opened. So what are your bad pizza experiences?

Ha, besides Dominoe's pizza? I actually had some pretty awful pizza today! I went to meet some friends at this italian style coffee/pizza house today. Their chai was amazing and their food was smelling really good. So I grabbed some to-go and took it to my husband for lunch. I thought it was going to be really good but it ended up just tasting awful! The pizza sauce was really bland, the flavors didn't mix well and there wasn't any cheese. Ugh! I'd go there for coffee again but never for food.

Did you get sick from Domino's too? I used to love their pizza when I was a teenager but I can't touch the stuff now. I've got some from there twice and felt like I got food poisoning both times. Even my daughter got sick. I make my own pizza sauce that tastes better than that crap did.

When I went to college, there was a local place that delivered pizza and the prices were really cheap. This pizza was, to me, proof that drunk people (or stoned people, for that matter)will eat anything. The crust was bland and kind of moist (not in the good way), the tomato paste was tasteless and the cheese was so oily that the grease would conjeale while the pizza was still really hot. It honestly looked like day old pizza from the fridge, right out of the box. (Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against day-old pizza, but I want to have the aging process to happen AFTER I have bought and eaten the first slice!)

Many times- Even from my favorite pizza place- One time we ordered the usual- large pepperoni, cheese and mushroom- when we went to eat it the mushrooms smelled- I tasted one and I knew it was bad- I called them and told them- Hey I order every week- they brought me a new pizza out that day- (we are normally too far for delivery). It was gross-- Alot of times the pizza will be burnt on the bottom- I stopped going to one place because of this- and the toppings weren't warm- so I'm sure it was a problem with the oven. I love pizza- and I have to have it right!

This thing happened with me also...Actually my uncle had come to our place and he wanted to eat a pizza from pizza hut but we couldn't order it as we didn't had the number...so we thought of smoking joes and they had that offer 'buy one get one free'so we ordered it.....The delivery person came after 1 hr and that was irritating because we were famished by that time.......When we started to eat it was not that good...The base was really thin and he put a lot of pepper on it.......So next we never ordered it....

Last year some friends and I were in Chicago. It was late at night and we were at our hotel, when we started getting hungry. So we ordered a pizza, but my buds wanted to order it from Domino's. Wish I disagreed with heartily, we needed to order from a authentic Chicago place. We found one and...it was quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had in my entire life. We ended up just eating the toppings...

When I lived with my parents, one day my sister came up from where she lives. While we didn't normally eat pizza from Papa John's, she was crazy about her Papa John's, and so since it was her visit, we ordered from there. It wasy nasty! The crust was soggy, the cheese was so thinly spread that you really only noticed the pizza sauce first. Add to that, although the meat was spread on the pizza, there was this one unidentifiable piece of something in the middle of one piece of pizza. No one was willing to do a taste test.

well amyann16,it so happened that a few weeks ago I tried making my own pizza which turned out to be the biggest disaster of my cooking life..I burned my mouth eating it and the remaining went down in the dustbin.. and there are some pizza places in india where I find pizzas horrible..there's hardly any cheese on any of them and the crust is so thin..its the bad day of pizza on those days I eat out...

Do you remember back when pizza hut started the stuffed crust pizza. I do. My family ordered the large and chowed down. I hate to say it but we were sick for days. I contacted the location we ordered from and laid into them. I got a refund and 2 free complete meals of my choosing. Needless to say the stuffed crust pizza has not arrived at my house since.Have a great day
