I have a question for those relationship master out there. What happens if there is a break up and there are animals involved? who gets what animal? Or all or none? I imagine this can be as hard as deciding who gets the house, or the car, or whatever else. what if you have many animals, like fish, and dogs, or cats, etc. How do you decide who gets what?

This is one bad thing about breaking up... who gets what... but i think the one who got the animal first is the one who should keep it... or the one who invested the most time and money on taking care of the animal should get it... it if no agreement is met... then it is best that you go to a judge to help you decide...

The problem has been resolved, but at the time, my boyfriend ha a dog with his ex. They got him together when he was just a pup. They were together for 6 years with no kids, so this dog was like there baby. We ended up getting him every other week or so until she got married and moved away. It was a bit stressful in the beginning, but we worked through it.

There you go the problems with relationships. Why hook up if your going to break up. ( Couldn't resist it seemed to rhyme) If it was me, thank goodness it's not, but if it was. I'd take my money and my address book too and find me a new address. Keep the pets and keep the animals, the humane shelter has many too that needs a good home. Most likely the house would have a mortgage, so you would be more then welcome to keep it too.

LOL, this wasnt directed for me. My boyfriend was with his ex for 6 years, and they had a dog together. The dog came over on weekends when his ex was out of town. It wasnt a problem. Kinda a funny though with visitation and all, thats why i started the discussion.
