Well, Iam a guy who is born and brought up in a christian family. But sometimes i do fail to understand if the God whom we worship do really exist. All people in the world follows different faith. We have uncountable religions as well.. So At the end of the Whose GOD is the real GOD? The BIBLE clearly states, Iam thy lord they God , Thou Shalth not have other Gods before me. What does that sentence mean? Does that mean there are other Gods which exist? Well the world says , we must learn to respect one another religion and GOD? So if we have different GOD? Do you really that the GOD you worship is a living GOD and it does exist? Please Comment!

There are many different gods, but only one true and living God. It is up to you to decide which God you will believe in and serve. The Bible says try the spirits. I was also raised as a Chistian, but when I decided to give my life to God as an adult, I started having doubts about whether or not God existed. So, I started studying what I was raised on and doing what the Bible told me to do and it worked, so there was no need for me to try anything else. I am satisfied with serving the same God that my parents served. The only way to prove whether or not God is real is to do exactly what the Bible tells you to do. If God is not real, then nothing in the Bible is going to work. But, when you find out that it is real, you will be on your way to gaining eternal life. Go ahead and try it, as soon as you can. I promise you that God is waiting to prove himself real in your life. God bless you!!

No, he is not a God of all religion, but he is the God of everyone and the father of those who have believed that he sent Jesus to die for our sins and that he rose again on the third day. He is the only way to the true and living God. God has many names. Whenever he wanted his people to get to know a different side of him, he gave them a name for that part of him. Like, Jehovah Jireh, is God my provider.

I believe there is something but I don't think we are meant to find out exactly what until we finish this journey here, bibles, books religions, I find it hard to believe in any of them as there are so many when in actual fact there could really only be one, who wrote these books and how do we know which one if any is the actual book...I think we were given an inner voice to listen to, compassion to act upon, conscience to keep us in check, love to keep us going and the rest is for us to find out when the time is ours...listen to your inner voice.
• India
17 Jun 07
But Some people call that inner voice a religion.! Dont they. Some people say when you listen to your heart and you get a answer to your question, People its GOD who is speaking to you... LilaLady.. Iam Sure You must have been born and raised up in a family who believes in a religion.

No my parents didn't believe in religion, but I have my own thoughts on things as having spirit guides, I believe these are people we loved and are now gone, I believe they are always around and I believe it is our Spirit Guides that are telling us things through our inner voice, the higher being I think we will find when we pass and I think we will all be surprised...

So what you are saying is, There is no specific God, That we have to listen to our hearts and move on?

i live and was brought up in a christian family. i believe that there is definitely a "God", though it's hard to say who and what he/she/it is, exactly. i think all religions are manifestations from the thousands of different interpretations of God over the years. it's hard for me to make sense of religion - thinking that this God just "existed" one day and made the earth - it scares me sometimes to think about life and what it really is. eternity, heaven, hell...all of that. it's incomprehensible, i believe. so i don't know if God is God, Buddha, Shiva, Brahman, etc...i can't spell them, i know, but i believe that the being that did form the earth is an actual being or presence, and not just a scientific boom that occurred. i wish we could know more, but unfortunately, whatever the case may be, we will not find out until we die or until the end of the earth. all i can say is, look to your heart and your life. think of everything that you have, that you experience, and just figure out what it means to you. all faiths are essentially similar, and i believe that millions of people focused on the worship of a god based on similar morals can't be wrong. i'm glad someone brought this up, though. it's a question i had for years as a child but was always too afraid to ask about until recently.

SonicFlood.. Indeed we are all scared to ask ourselves that if God does exist, If it does Who is the real GOD. It could be a question of your faith. But i dont think there is anything wrong in that. If GOD exist then he will show you the answer. He will surely let u know the answer, But Sometimes it becomes to complicated to answer things. Not even the greatest spiritual leaders has the answer to this question.

definitely - i don't think that there are any religions that are "wrong" by any means. i think that different cultures and areas of the world have developed their own set of morals over time, and we notice that through all the differences, many of these morals overlap throughout the world. my opinion is that there is one "God", but different people have different names, opinions, interpretations, ways of worship, etc., for this being. some people see God as a being in heaven, some see God as manifestations in the living plants and animals around us, some people see God as an imminent force. for me, all of the above can be correct. if you believe in God and that God will provide for you what you need, then God will be the manifestation that you believe in. for me, God is watching from above, and allowing humans to have free will as he planned, and hoping we follow his word. for one of my best friends, God is a force that lives in the plants, animals, and just the air around her in general. he guides her choices everyday. either way, we both have something to look up to, and to look forward to, so i believe that either interpretation is "correct" and perfectly fine in the eyes of our God. i think my problem always has been that i'm a very factual, hands-on person. i like to see everything presented in front of me where i can see it and interact. so when i was young, and was presented with the notion of "God", i didn't understand, because i never could see this "God" that everyone talked about. as i got older though, and learned about metaphors, symbols, and the meaning of faith, i realized that just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it's not there. i still have problems now, even though i've grown in my faith. it's something that's hard for me to overcome all the time. but, i am persistent, and i have so many fortunate things happen to me, it's hard not to believe that someone or something is watching out for me.

Does that mean, you and i being a christian will share the same heaven/hell with other people? if thats the case doesnt it not contradict what the bible says? Thou shall not have other gods before me.. The Bible cleary says we cannot have other gods before him.

in my opinion all the gods are real ... but then again it depends on how you see the word "God" ... the gods that humans "created" are just a way of seeing the true God ... same as u i was born and brought up in a cristian family but have a diferent understanding of what is and what not ... God is the supreem being and it is real but He dose not have a name or a "way he looks"(don't know how to say it" everithing is just something created my man ... i strongly belive in the ancent egyptian gods but as all gods they were first humans and discoverd the true reality and the way to change the world and do outstanding things ... the thing that you sayd from the bible is just something sayd to clear out all the other gods and proclaim himself as the only god and anyingly enough it worked for alot of people

yes because u would belive in the same thing, God, only with a diferent aspect and history and stuff ... what you belive is what is, if you don't belive in heaven and hell the for you it dosen't exist and will not exist ... if you belive in Jesus then that's whats going to happen(as history and as is sayd about Him) and if you belive in the aincent egyptians then whan is sayd about them and what history says, will happen ... everything exists, nothing exists ... "if you strongly and truly belive that a coin gets you good luck than so it is" ...

Well proving the existence of GOD is beyond man's capacity, unless you are a god urself (LOLZ) But i believe He Does! Who the real GOD is? It depends on whose GOD you want to believe into. Pagans, & natives have their GOD even they are not reached by the Christianity or other religion. GOD may have many names in many forms....This is not a big deal. What more important is that despite of differences, despite of different cultures.... The idea of believing to a Supreme BEING would only connotes GOD existed....And whoever you want to believe into. Congratulations! You have a real GOD of your own.

A for the natives.. they worship the image made by them, they worship trees, animals and so on, Are they GODS? If God one why is there too many diversity? Are all the religions worshipping the same GOD who is in different form?

Wow! You have to many questions there, BUT before we could define your too many why's. Can you please define WHO is GOD first? and what is the importance of GOD in your life? May be if you answer these questions then we will go back to your to many why's? If you care so much on why others, do-stuffs like they are doing now. It has a purpose that they themselves understand. If You search yourself why do you do your stuffs...i believe you have your own purpose too. So before you can understand the purposes of others you must understand your own purpose first. Cause if you do...wisdom will come into you....and you yourself can answer your too many questions in life. :)

Well Too Many Why's Thats me! Eh Well I was born in a christian family and i belive in Jesus Christ. While as a kid i simple follow my parents and go to church and thats sounds more like customs to me. I have too many why's in search for deeper truth about GOD. This world preaches about respecting other religion. So Iam just wondering if its okay if i follow any religion and i will recieve salvation? Or is there one real religion which can give us salvation,

it's really a tough question to be asked.. I believe in one God and I can't proof it.. and no one was able to proof it for me.. the only reason they gave was that if there were many Gods then they'd have been fighting each other and disasters would have occured on earth..

God has manifested Himself among us through all of His work. God's work has been called by almost all of us as the life sustaining 'mother nature'. God's teachings is all manifested and made known to man through the Bible. it is only by learning and knowing about it thoroughly that we can gain full knowledge about the true and real God that we are all looking for and hoping to know. in order to fully know God, we have to have faith and hold on to it steadfast. if you really want to learn everything about the Bible and thus know everything about God, i want to be of help.

Why do people think that the truth about God depends on beliefs and opinions? It seems that many persons would like to vote or make a poll and that what majority beliefs is the right thing. But God is not a president elected by public opinion. He does not depend on what people think about him. It is necessary to accept what He tells about himself. And Christians have good reasons to believe in the Bible as God's revelation about his person, his nature and his will. The very idea of God contradicts the possibility of many gods. God is perfection, so he cannot share his existence with any other gods. Islam and Jewish faith resist the Christian idea of Trinity, precisely because it is unthinkable that there should be more than one God. For Christians, Trinity is a threefold expression of the one and only God. So God is simultaneously our Father in Heaven, our Saviour Jesus Christ -who took also human form in order to redeem our sins, and the Holy Spirit, who is God's presence inside the believer. As to pluralism, the thought that God has many forms and that's sufficient to believe and be good, the Bible clearly rejects this idea. Not because of the command you mention, that referred to the adoration of idol's and many time is applied to anything that man would prefer to God. The Bible insists in that there is only one way to come to God and that is through Jesus Christ. He is the essence of Christian faith. This exclusivism, the claim that you must belief in Jesus Christ, is not in order to limit salvation to a group of predestinated and selected people. This is in order that everybody may recognize that beside of Jesus there is no way. That's also why Christians feel compelled to go and teach about Christ, to all unbelievers and to all people! And to those who participate in myLot. Because Jesus is the way, the truth and life, eternal life.

I perfectly agree and appreciate what you have just said. But the world says Respect other religion, According to you and Christianity, If Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Do you think its a duty of a christian to show the world that Christianity can get you salvation. Do other other people who believes in other religions will not get salvation?

I do believe their is a God and the statement about no other God before me... I think that just means that we are not to believe in anything greater than him. As far as their being other God's and are we following the right one, I think that if we try and live right and do as we ought to, we will be saved. It's like in the bible where it is expressed that the innocents would be saved, not having had a chance to know him. I think if we were believing in the wrong God, that as long as we are trying to live right and follow our hearts as to what we believe, we would actually be innocents and thus we would be saved.

Yes there is only creator of all that exist and he is the true GOD Almighty but disbelievers and people who had weak faith they started worshiping idols or human beings means they associated humans with GOD so GOD Almighty want us to worship only him not other then him therefore Glorious Quran have been sent after BIBLE because Paul teached falsehood to the people who believed in Jesus so he diverted there faith from obedience to fascination like salvation theory ....... and there are many religions most of them are originated by only faith laid down by GOD Almighty through his chosen messengers among man but people did not believed so they changed there scriptures ........... for more information you can visit this site created by former christian chaplain Yusuf Estes http://www.islamcode.com

Gladly. I too, was raised in a Christian home, went to a Christian school till graduation, and asked myself the same questions till I was about 29yrs. old and decided to find out for myself. I started researching and reading the Bible. Our God is a jealous God. And by this, I mean, He clearly stated," I am the Lord thy God, You Shall have no other god before me." Many people have made gods of idols, whether wooden or stone. The minute we pray to an idol, we are putting our faith in something that has no power. By putting your faith in that thing, you are giving demonic spirits power to fool you. You allow yourself to see things happen and come to pass, because of the faith you put in that idol. I believe that we are in an age, where the Bible is no longer respected as it should. The Bible is no longer read in schools, even in some churches. I have been to Catholic churches in the past year with a friend, and not once did the priest ask for us to open our Bibles. I think people thought I was a freak cuz I even had my Bible with me. HAHAHA, well, I hope I was able to help.

Once you believe that God exists! Then he is the real one!!! Every religious book indicates and describes that God is the only way to achieve the Ultimate goal of life... It means without doubting we should have a blind belief on the God once you started reasoning, doubting, questioning, then it takes the method of analysis and research finally we get the deeds that to be done for the Ultimate goal of life.... I want to quote simply that Jesus : says he is the way to reach to god but he is not god he is the son of the god.... Jesus reached the God by blind belief and sacrification of life Vivekananda reached the God by analysing and disclosing of truths of life.

Srini.. Do you mean to say That Vivekananda is a true god and Jesus is not? What do you think of the believes of the christians that Jesus is the way the truth and the life? You Believe in a religion and believes in a GOD , What about the other religions?

The first thing I will tell you is that modern religious sects have only two objectives, money and control. There is a god, but, you won't find him in any church. The only place you will find him is in your heart. I can't tell the exact passage but there is a passage, somewhere, in the bible that says, "and you shall have no need of a teacher, because, I will place my laws in your minds and in your hearts." Look at yourself. Look at the world around you. Science can explain a lot of things. However, it can't explain why you can ask questions like this one. The ability to question is a self defense mechanism. There is so much more than science or modern religion will ever be able to explain. If you're trying to believe, then, something or someone is telling you that there must be something to believe in. There is only one true God. You won't find him in a Christian Church or a Muslim temple. You will only find him in your heart. Doubt yourself and you, unwittingly, doubt the one true God. Believe.

In my mind God exists. Jesus was sent down and proved to a great deal of the population that this God was for real. This video really says a lot about this topic-http://atheistdelusion.cf.huffingtonpost.com/
