I've been on ebay now for about 5 months and I am still trying to Master it. How do people actually make $1,000's a month with it? Does anyone have any insight?

You have to kind of specialize in one or two items so that you become very knowledgable in the market. If you are selling something, for instance, that people can walk into any Walmart and buy as cheap or cheaper, you won't do as well. Also do a little research before listing so you know a reasonable starting price and don't either scare people off or cheat yourself. It was trial and error for me. I now have a store and while I am not getting rich by any means, I do make money every month.

Thank-you for your advice. It is hard to find a wholesaler with low prices. This is very helpful. Thanks!

I have also bought things off ebay and turned around and resold them. For instance, I specialize in baby "lovies". A mom just cleaning out her kids' rooms might throw on a lot of baby toys just to get rid of them. If I see several items I can resell, I will bid on the whole lot. And either sell each piece individually or just keep the blankies to sell and either donate the other toys elsewhere or put them in my store as a small lot. If you are willing to sell used items garage sales, flea markets are great resources. Also clearance bins and going out of business sales are great too! I once bought rolls of wallpaper border for .50 a piece. I sold them for 12.99 which was still half of the original price tag. The search is half the fun!

I think you have to study it, keep looking through to see what is selling. the type of things that are selling, I tend to think it is the collectable type of things that sell well, old wares and things that people can't just go out and buy locally but i really do think the key is to study what sells...

Last year I was a powerseller. I will not disclose how much I made per month. However I paid ebay $800 to $1200 a month. I chose to do what I love. I usually do not work because I am enjoying what I do. Sometimes I get a contract doing something I do not like but it comes with the territory.

I couldn't tell you how much we have made but I know its alot. I use to be heavy into selling, but the company I sold for retired and sold the business. I use to sale pictures similar to home interior kind. We still sale once in a while which is usually clothes and hubbies tools. Tools and baby/childrens clothes seem to sell pretty good. I would suggest looking over ebay and see what sells best.
