Are computer operated machines - ROBOTS really our future ???

With all the new inventions and researches being carried out in the world ..and that too so extensively..even with the movie I,ROBOT ...do u all think that ROBOTS are the future of mankind ??? What will happen to the world if it is true...what are ur perceptions abt it ???

depending on a computer is one thing and depending on robots is another thing...
My answer is no robots won't be our future... because people are scared and cos they won't accept robots... the perfect role for robots will be to explore worlds where human presence is impossible...
they shouldn't be our future and they shouldn't become smarter then the average human;)

Good on u mate.... I really hope that the advancement in technology is limited upto only that much ...and i agree that robots must be used to explore or experiment with the things that humans cant do ...or is too risky... But i do think that ROBOTS are definately gonna be there in our day to day life in the future.

well machines basically were invented to help humans.. but the scenario these days...or mayb in the future might b a lil diff..coz v becoming more n more dependent on it.. if v r using robots to decrease human labour then v r in turnincreasing unemployment.. n also..u never know how inventions can go wrong..i mean who wants to b dominated by a machine?

ya inventions are always known to go wrong and have certain consequences..which are not expected. I hope that scientists realise the pros and cons of the whole ROBOT issue...and doesnt make any robot which can make very highly calculated decisions ...

We are already depending on many computer operated machines or robot which acts on our command. More the IT sector is growing, machines are going computer operated. So it is obvious within a very few years all machineries are made to be operated through computers or some robot. It will decrease the human efficiency. That's the minus point of this technological development.

I am a student of computer programing so i can tell you that it is truth, in a future not so far , we will have a machine with artificial intelligence remember that all the computer are base in a processor and it is like a brain so if the processor still getting so fast and powerful it is very probable and the since the software is like the thought so it is not rare that it would be possible and I have heard that nowadays it is possible building a computer so powerful like the human brain but it would be so big maybe the size of a state of Texas.

Well dude wat u say is correct. Even i am a student of IT and know abt computer programming. So even i know how the technology is advancing. Infact already machines with artificial intelligence has been used for various things. Regarding the size of the computer whose power will be equal to human brain i doubt it needs to be that huge.

i thnk too mch dependency on computers or robots shud be decreased not only thn but from now on. i don thnk anythng lik I ROBOT is gonna hppn.. but surely if robots are taking humns place n thn unemployemnt issue will increase whc will lead to dire consequences.

So it is obvious within a very few years machines are made to be operated through computers or Robots because of its high speed and accuracy. But there is a great negative side of this development. The people in general will loose their efficiency and will always be dependent on computers.
