Journal Gems for the week of June 16th

1. When was the last time you did something for the first time? My kids last day of school. The school called me and asked me to help out. It turned out, I had 50 kids to instruct and help play a game. And every 30 minutes, the kids would switch and I would have the next grade. Had someone told me that at one point I had to and COULD entertain 50 Kindergarteners at once, I would have laughed! 2. When was the last time you experienced something that made you feel stronger as a person? When I could open the pickle jar and my 17 year old son couldn't. ha ha 3. When was the last time you truly felt emotionally tuned in to someone elses disappointment, happiness or sadness? My best friend and sister, Zu. And that is all the time. :) 4. When was the last time you bought something you really wanted? Does Ice Cream count? OK, it was soft serve frozen yogurt...but it sure was good!!! 5. When was the last time you made a decision for your own happiness and not that of others? I really can't recall a time. 6. When was the last time you did something completely childish and enjoyed every minute of it? LOL That has been a long time too. Last time I did something like that, I got grounded. 7. When was the last time you just sat and watched a complete stranger and wondered what they were thinking? Funny...but I do that all the time! LOL

Most of these questions seem to apply to me from yesterday. Yesterday was the first time that I went car shopping by myself and actually purchased a car by myself without any help of friend or family. This definitely made me feel stronger as a person knowing that I could deal and work with a car sales person. I have been tuned in to my neighbors sadness because of the loss of her husband last year. Buying this car was for my happiness and not because others wanted me to get a new car. I can not thinking of any recent moments of being childish. I am always wondering what strangers are thinking when I am out.

1. When was the last time you did something for the first time? Two summers ago, it was the first time I ever got on a trampoline! 2. When was the last time you experienced something that made you feel stronger as a person? When I finally learned to drive at the age of 35! 3. When was the last time you truely felt emotionally tuned in to someone elses disappointment, happiness or sadness? Just last night, with hubby. His work let him down big time. I understood his disapointment. 4. When was the last time you bought something you really wanted? Yesterday, I got a volleyball set with a monster size ball so my girls can no play with me. 5. When was the last time you made a decision for your own happiness and not that of others? This morning, I locked everyone out of the bathroom, put in ear plugs and had a wonderful 1 hour soak. The rest had to fin for themselves for awhile. 6. When was the last time you did something completely childish and enjoyed every minute of it? What time is it? LOL, that is how I live life! 7. When was the last time you just sat and watched a complete stranger and wondered what they were thinking? All the time, I love observing people, their expressions, their actions, it's all so interesting to me. Something else I do as a pass time is, Hubby and me like to watch people and adlib what we think they are saying, LOL. That is great fun!!
