These are the Phloxx I planted early last spring. They are now about 30 inches tall. Yes 2 and one half feet. They are large this year. Last year they reached maybe 1 foot only. But they did flower last year just not a lot. They are a purple color when they do flower. I am so excited waiting for them to flower. This ought to be very georgous I feel. They also with my Lilies need to be thinned out this fall. I will be one busy gardener this Sept or October for sure. But it needs to be done. Lilies, Phloxx, Hostas, beries, strawberries, and other plants that all need to be split and or transplanted. The final results though are soooo rewarding for me. Anyhow I just wanted to share this photo and all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I rated your photo. Great deck I bet you spend a lot of time out on it. I know nothing about phloxx are they a bub or a seed?

Phloxx are a seeded plant. Mostly used as ground cover. They come in many varieties and colors. They have ground cover which grow about 8 inches covering an area quickly then the tall ones such as these photoed that get to 3 feet tall in some varieties. Very pretty when in full bloom too. Friends built this deck. It's really shabby and poorly built. If you were right by it you could see the flaws. Long story. They'll never be back to build or repair things for us. Hell they didn't even have a square or a level so they had to borrow mine. haha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Once again you did a wonderful job planting those. I love the way they accent the end of your deck. I bet they'll be so pretty when they bloom. I think I'm going to rename you "Gardener Bob". LOL

Thank you very much. I try to get things I plant in a neat and orderly fashion. Some don't weork as they are invasive. That means they spread a lot. Like Lilies and berries etc. But every few years I dig them up and replant them in a neat and orderly fashion once again. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Cool.. I never heard of phloxx before so it's always nice to see different types of flowers. You do a lot of work on your garden don't you buddy :) From your previous discussions you could understand how you find it rewarding. (Especially when you have fresh strawberries) Kudos, ~Joey

wow - when they flower will it be all over the green portions? Or just near the top? I can't wait too! You've got a very sweet patio there, grandpa Bob! Sept is when Autumn comes - my favourite season of them all! enjoy the busyness when it comes. You'll soon see the fruits of that labour!

When they flower it covers about 1/3 of the green area. Least it did last year. So I'll also be in for a surprise also when they finally do flower. Hahaha! Thanks for the compliment also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

The layout you have here for the Phloxx is very attractive. They have grown very well since spring. A purple flower is going to be stunning. My brother saw my front yard yesterday, & he commented on how much the garden had improved. I rated your photo & wrote a comment.

Thanks for ALL the comments you make on my photos. I've had complete strangers from around the neighborhood tell me that my yard and all is the best it's looked in many many years. It was ragged looking when we bought the house and I had plans and ideas in my head what to do with it. And so far it's looking like I had pictured it would. It's a great feeling when neighbors tell me it looks great. I try to keep it somewhat organised and very neat. Thanks again. i AM ALSO GLAD THAT YOU RECALL THE OTHER PHOTOS OF THIS. mOST WON'T RECALL. tHANKS A LOT FOR THIS AS WELL. TRUE FRIENDSHIP SHOWN HERE. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
