Yet another discussions related to stars and ratings. About 10 % of my discussion centre around these topic , still I am eager to know more view from many people . I have been here for the past 6 months. But I being a student was not consitent here. But as it is my holidays now I have got a fair chance to be active , and as I have only a weeek left before my college reopens , I am very much eager. " How can I change RED BLUE ? " , I have a rating of 87/100 and I want to make it upto 95. So what are the ways which will help me reaching it. I can see many people with 10 star ratings. I am satisfied with 9 stars. But it is a point of achievement to highest limits . Can you provide suggestion , correct my mistakes and help me progress . Thanking you in advance , Have a Happy Posting !!!

first of all star is just for rating,it never effect on your earning..any way if you want tochange your star from 9-red to10-blue then you have start good quality discussions and response others with quality,, if your is good quality post, then others will rate you + , get much + rating to increase your rating.........

Well basically I would tell you to stop worrying about your star so much lol!! Seriously I've always been a 10 star (I think!) and I don't spend hours on here every day. Some days maybe an hour, other days I'm not on here at all really. On average I probably respond to about 10 discussions a day but I very rarely start discussions. I try to avoid giving one or two line responses although sometimes I do if it's a survey type question of course. I've often seen people accuse "10 star" people of avoiding controversy and being bland but I don't think I am. I certainly don't avoid controversy - if I see something I want to respond to I do and I honestly don't care if my rating drops because of it. It does drop from time to time - usually if I respond to a religious discussion - but it's not gone down below 95 so far. It will do eventually and I truly don't care. I wouldn't mind being a nine because red is my favourite colour but I also like the silver 7's. I don't think your star rating makes any difference to earnings (I rarely even make payout so it's not done much for me anyway!) and really it's just a bit of fun I think. So really I would say just post what you feel like posting and enjoy it!

I took a look at your profile and some of the discussions you started and responded to and it looks like you're doing all the right things anyway - you obviously make an effort and put some thought into what you post so I'm sure your star will turn blue soon.

I have got a blue 10 star rating a day back and it feels nice. I feel we should keep posting good quality discussions, make nice comments, add tags, and rate our posts. That should help. I feel just puting honest good effort is fine. As when you enjoy being on mylot, things just happen. good luck. happy mylotting:)

It is quite natural for you to wish to get the blue star. Though it will bring no material benefit to you, as far as it is there, there is nothing wrong in wishing to attain it. But from your part the only thing to do is posting good topics for discussion and pursue the topics to real discussions and post relevant responses and comments to other's discussions. It is for others to rate you. Keep responding to all your friend's discussions. Your rating will surely increase.

I think the best advice I can give to you is, start quality discussions. If you start discussions that people feel are of good quality and are compelled to answer, they will rate you positively. Also, when replying to discussions, do so with quality replies. Try to use more than 3 lines when answering and answer the topic with as much knowledge and helpfulness as you can. I only reply to discussions I can add something to. I always rate everyone that responds to my discussions with a + even if their opinion differs from mine. Keep responding to your friends discussions, and do keep up the quality and you should be blue in no time.

I apperecite that you aim at the discussions you respond to. It some both the purpose earning money , name and fame. I do rate a positive for most of the responses. But when I get some responses without any relevance to the discussion , I skip them and in the extreme I get so irritated I sometimes give a negative. I hope I give to no other. Thanking for your advice. Good Luck !!!

95 is still a red star! That is what I have! You have allready gone up to an 88! Just keep posting and reponding to discussions and it will soon go up. But don't worry too much about it. Mine keeps fluctuating between 94/95. Just enjoy it here!

Well, all you have to do is wait and see how people will rate you. If people like what you say they will rate you positively, if not then you'll get a negative one unfortunately.

Well the star rating we have is based on other people rating your discussions and responses as positive, so to that extent, you need to try and make sure that your responses and discussions are of good quality. One liners and one answer responses are a definite no no. Good luck!

Hello,gpraveenkumar5 ,honestly, i do not have any ideas because i am not having a blue star right now,but as the rating depends on how other members rate you,if they give you positive, your rating will be increased and vice versa,so it is important you have good quality replies os that other people will give you positive rating, also you should not reply to those discussions which have violated the discussions rules or you may have your rating decreased. Good luck.

It is a good piece of advice not to reply to those discussions which have violated the discussion rules. So I think that I will be careful about this in order not to get my rating decreased. But do you know whether it means our earnings will be decreased also if our ratings are decreased? I am concerned about this. Thanks for your response in advance.
