no its genetically impossible.because the antigens on the red blood cells are controlled by genes, we can determine the possible blood types of children produced by a given pair of parents.each perosn recsives an A,a B or an O gene from each parent. in this system the A and B genes are co-dominant that means they are equally dominant and the O gene is recessive.this means that a person whose genetic type is either AA or AO will have a blood type A; those with genetic type BB or BO will have blood group B;and those with genetic type OO will have blood group O. therefore parents having blood group O and AB will have children with genetic type AO AND BO.so this indicates that children having parents with such blood groups will have their blood type as A OR B.and no doubt that the child can never be an O type.

Another amazing answer. I am learning a lot from this discussion. My natural instinct was sure, a kid can have blood types from either parent. Interesting!

According to what I saw on Biology Project website, their children will have to be either A or B type. So if someone asks your friend, he or she can tell them. It might be crucial in case there is an accident.

Well, it has been awhile since I have studied Biology and I don't think I every got this part about the blood group. But, I would think that is possible because the baby would have to have one group from one of the parents.

As far as I know.. according to what I read and learnt, the child cannot be an O type. That is why the O type is rare...

Yes, it is possible, a child takes either the mother or his father's blood group so if the mother is o +ve then a child can have the same group - o +ve.
