My mom was a fishing guide and I grew up on a boat pretty much. I only killed one fish and that was enough for me. I felt bad then and I still do. I wonder what gave me the right to take another creature's life. Since then I have been content to just float about in the ocean.

I mostly go with hubby and the kids, so it's not really about catching fish for me. It's more like having a relaxing day with my pole in the water, enjoying just being, and doing so with the group I love.

I love fishing. I do all fassets of the sport but my favourite is rock and surf fishing(sea) and fly-fishing. There are days when I catch nothing but I am stil tired after that days fishing because when I fish I am always busy. Not physically always but mentaly. I concentrate on my rod as if the fish is going to take the bait any time now and in the back of my mind I am preparing my next bait presentation and plan of action. I think of nothing other than fishing and I put in a lot of concentration. Fishing for me is both fun and hard work. I do not fish compeditive anymore due to health, but I do go as much as possible. Never a disaointing moment, even if no fish. Tight Lines

I am not a regular fisherman. I remember a quote from years ago that went something like "most people do not go fishing to catch fish". It is for an entirely different set of reasons. If you use your imagination, you should be able to come up with a few.
