Do you dress up for work?

If you don't have to wear a uniform to work do you wear different clothes from the ones you wear out to socialise or do you wear the same? I work in an office and always try to dress up for it but this can be very expensive having to keep 2 wardrobes of clothes for work and going out. What do you think, should it matter what you wear to work?

I like to dress up to work, but not always office-style shirt or blouse matched with skirt. Sometimes I will wear the slightly fashion shirt or blouse that I can also use for going out. For skirt, I like to have the simple black and dark blue one, which are easy to match any top. In addition, sometimes I will like to wear the necklace or scarf to make myself look more smart.

I try to vary what I wear to work, but sometimes I just run out of ideas and put on what ever is first out of the wardrobe. But with a different belt or necklace it can look quite different from the last time I wore it. It gets boring trying to think early in the morning what to wear.

The good thing is that i work in a call center and the dress code is not strict. We can wear whatever we want (well, except for some indecent materials). We can come to the office with just jeans and a plain shirt. You are right, it is expensive to dress up when you go to work but it also helps. It depends on the nature of your work since if you deal with a lot of customers face to face on a daily basis, it wouldnt hurt to dress up and look formal.. :)

Yes, you're right if you have to face people it is nice to give a good impression. If you don't look fairly smart, they will think you are a sloppy worker as well. Thanks for that.
