Whos getting nailed with the storm??

So I'm in Western New York about an hour east of Buffalo NY (which is where my husband is right now) and comin in fast is what appears to be and is said to be a very nasty Thunderstorm coming from the West...My husband just called from my mum in laws to let me know that its brutal out that way...strong winds, torrential downpours and so on...Luckily for me the thunder is 'rolling' thunder rather than snapping (thats a trigger for me)..
Anyone in an area where this has hit? I'm hoping we'll miss the hardcore of it..according to the weather radars we're JUST outside the zone of where the worst is passing...then again who knows....

are you in rochester? Cuz i am (an hour east of buffalo...) I was at work in henrietta and it was CRAZY!! They're building another office complex next to me and so theres a HUGE field of dirt next to my building and the dirt was blowing so much it looked like a tornado was on the way. I refused to answer my office phone too, i wasnt about to be struck by lightening! It was sunny and hot when i left work but now its dark out again...I think we're in for another wicked storm!

i also saw a news story that someone was killed from a tree falling on them during the storm while they were riding their bike this afternoon.

I'm about 40 mins west of you actually....LOL yea I dont answer the phone either when theres a bad storm...hell I turn it right off (the power bar the phone and my computer are plugged into)....

Oh my, be safe. We are not in the path of this storm I think it went over north from us. We have had a drought for the pass 2 weeks. This morning we had a bit of teaser rain, but nothing really to get happy about. I hope all is well your way.

wow this thing is coming in FAST and one of my poor dogs is terrified (thunder scares him) so he's been following me around..now he's laying by the sofa waiting for me...LOL my daughter heard there was supposed to be hail so when she went out to save her pool noodles from blowing away she put a cardboard box on her head...I was damn near dying from laughin so hard!! LOL

As I type this I am smack dab in the middle of a thunderstorm (Savannah) with heavy rain, thunder and lightning. It has turned my bossy, afraid of nothing, chihuahua into to a ball of fear squished behind the toilet bowl.

I'm about 45 miles south of Rochester- so we are close- We got hit Teusday with the storm. It wasn't as bad as they were saying it would be- but bad enough- My daughter was playing a playoff softball game- and I swear- it just blew right in- High winds- torrential downpour- thunder and lightning- It was not fun! We only lost a few trees that storm though-

Girl, I was out during lunch and I got drenched! Thank God I brought my gym clothes, and I had to change into them. So for the rest of the afternoon I was wearing a t-shirt, sneackers and workout pants!!! Luckly my boss is great and she was cool with it.
In the late evening it was horrible. I was waiting for BF to get home and it was thundering and lightning hard. The ppl across the street's car alarm kept going off and for some reason I thought that was funny and I couldn't stop laughing. I guess is all the stress of what is going on. I needed to laugh.
