We used traditional vows, because we didn't realize we had an option. My husband and I were the first of our friends to get married. I think it would have been more meaningful, if we had written our own.

We wrote ours. I thought they would mean more coming from our own hearts.

Did each of you write your own privately or write them together?

We just did the traditional ones. We weren't into all that mushy, personal stuff. I like the traditional ones better anyway, because, well, they are tradition.

We used traditional vows -- the only change we made to the vows was that we had the word "obey" removed.

I suspect there is a reason for the change!
