I thinks the last time I had a party for my birthday was when I turned 10. Since then, it has been just another ordinary day, except for the fact that on that day I was buying the drinks for my friends :)

Well when we where younger we used to plan massive birthday parties for our selfs and others came the time. Now Im 30 and time just seems to be flying by so I dont bother celebrating it anymore. Every birthday now just reminds me how old Im getting and fast. Dont get me wrong I like to celebrate birthdays and everything just not mine anymore. Im also sorry to hear growing up you didnt celebrate yours like many other children did.

I don't really treat my birthday as any other day. Even if I don't have a party, I do some things that I consider special. I usually go to a pilgrimage and pay homage to our Lady of Rule.

My birthday is around Christmas so money was always tight as a child. There was even a time that my family totally forgot my birthday. Since I was about nine years old I have always treated my birthday just like it was another day of the week. Because of my experience as a child I make a big deal out of my children's birthdays. We always have some kind of party and presents to let them know how special that day is to us.

I'm a very low-key person. A 'celebration' usually consists of a movie, dinner, a walk in the park, and a late desert while bowling. A simple day out with my friends and family is enough for me.

When I was younger, my family would always get together for cake and ice cream and I would get to open gifts. Now, I do the same for my kids, and sometimes I still have a cake for my birthday. I do it more for the kids than for myself though. Sometimes I would prefer to forget that I am getting older.

I was an only child and did not have many parties. Even when I did I felt uncomfortable with all the attention. At some of the places I have worked everybody got a cake or taken out to lunch. Some places gave you your birhday off as a holiday. At my age now, I have decided not to celebrate anymore. I will be quietly having an unbirthday on the 27th.

I value my Birthday because I'm glad to be alive for another year. But I tend to think that my Birthday is only important if someone else thinks so. I've gone out of my way to plan parties for loved ones and have had parties planned for me. I guess being remembered is the thing that makes your Birthday special.
