Are these no longer allowed? I really enjoyed them and have a great binder I call my MYLOT cookbook with some of the greatest recipes that I have ever tried. I have tried to respond to some, only to find that they have been deleted. Is this a violation? If so, I really think it's too bad.

If your friends are all set to notify on then you have the recipes anyway. I too enjoyed those recipes and thankfully many of them were on the yahoo notepad and therefore protected from my housefire that took everything. I wish we could still do these however it is an example of the changes they make and then don't notify us. Like the picture limits that never used to be and now there are. I am glad you have those in a binder and maybe you could share them with some of us at some point. There is a yahoo group all about Mylot that allows especially the things that are deleted. I agree that it is too bad to be disallowed.

mylotfriends@yahoogroups.com That is the group where we share stuff. I think if you ask around they probably will allow these. Ask management and ask the group. Doesnot ever hurt to ask a question truly. Then you would at least know your next course of action. Good luck and hope to see you and everyone else there!

What yahoo group is this? I have not heard of it. Can we still swap recepie's there? I liked the idea because alot of them were family favorites and you really did not have to wonder what the final result would be. I wonder if we could ask admin to allow it again as long as it is accompanied with an expanation of why it's a favorite, the origin etc?

that's a shame. I really enjoyed collecting them and my family enjoyed the end result. Alot of work went into typing posts like that. Why do the one liners survive instead?

Oh wow! I had no idea. I don't know why they would be. As far as I know they haven't made a rule against it. Maybe someone was stealing or copying someone else's recipes or posts...???

I never just publish a recipe. I always publish a recipe within an article and none of mine have been deleted that I know of. I really dont know anything about those who just publish reipes without an article surrounding it. I have been reading alot of people saying that many of their discussions were deleted lately though.

I have always enjoyed your recipes. But you are right, you usually have a neat story to tell of the origin or beginings of yours.

How strange. Yet I suppose they may have been deleted because the source (sauce...get it???...lol...sorry) wasn't named. It's probably deemed a possible copyright infringement if the recipe is copied and pasted. It's a shame, because a lot of my recipes are very old and hand written by friends who've passed them on to me. In the good ole days no-one bothered with writing down where their recipes came from.

I didn't realize recipes were no longer allowed. That's a shame, I had collected a few good ones too. Glad to see you're back here for a few days, ally!

Yes, unfortunately it is somehow. They are anal about certain rules around here. It is just weird to me sometimes.

this is the rule--Post jokes, recipes, etc. as discussions. This is a form of abuse and all recipes and jokes will be deleted if they are started as a discussion. it says that if you use a recipe or a joke as a discussion, your discussion will be deleted... there is the word start... it means if you copy a recipe as START of a discussion is not allowed... in other words if you are asking a recipe, as a start of discussion such as "do you have any recipes with Kale'? i dont think it is a violation unless you posted a recipe with Kale as a start of the discussion actually i already posted a lot of discussions with regards recipes... but i make sure to type the source...

I think it's fair to do so. As it is quite easy to cut and copy a long recipe as a discussion. Yes, it's long but it is not created. It is just a copy. If everybody does so, then Mylot will become a boring website.
