Do you Delete Inactive Friends in Mylot?

I've been wondering what to do with some of the friends that i have here in mylot. The reason is that they're inactive, and they've been for a while already. Not that it bothers me, but when you reach a certain amount of friends, it gets harder to keep an eye on most of them, what they write etc, so i had thought that if i erased the ones who are clearly inactive, a lesser number of friends would make things easier for me. What do you think about this, mylotters? Do you agree that those inactive ones should be deleted or will you keep them there anyway? Please give me an advice here...

Its of no harm to keep them. I have lots of friends in mylot of which many are inactive. But i have kept all of them. If the friend you are deleting comes to know, he/she may take it otherwise. Do not delete, i would say. Keep them in your list but no need to monitor their activities...

I don't monitor their activities LOL...god, i'm not such paranoid. Thing is that from the big group of "regulars" who usually interact with me, since they're a lot, it gets harder and harder to keep up with them. So a huge list of nicknames makes it even harder...so my wonder was if it would be a good idea to get rid of those who haven't posted anything nor logged in in ages...that's all Anyway i am just asking for your opinions, so thanks for yours.

Yes, it's true that perhaps some of them are gone for good, but others just been busy, or on holidays....that would be a good reason not to delete them...don't know .... Anyway thanks for replying.

Yes, I totally agree, I have started to go through my friends list and delete the inactive ones, or the ones that have never answered any of my discussions. No point in keeping them there I say, whats the point of that, Im sure that you will get many more friend requests with people that will answer your discussions.

No, I don't delete them. I usually have them on notify so that if they become active again I will get a notification of any new discussions that they post. That way I don't have to keep going to their profile pages to check for new discussions.

This is true, but having your inactive friends on notification won't make much difference since they aren't writing much if anything anyway. Then when or if they do write something you will know about it. If they don't write anything, you won't have to worry about it because you won't get any notifications for them.

Yes, notify is a good solution...the problem is that if you have a lot of friends and put them all on notify, you will get flooded all the time in your email account...

well I think it depends on the way you look at things! I have a number of inactive friends on my list too and I have often wondered whether I should delete them but have never been able to bring myself to do so! I suppose it would make sense but I always worry they will come back and have no friends! lol Maybe we should make a pact to delete those who have been inactive for a couple of months? lol hugs xxx

Yep, maybe we should do that. Anyway if after 2 or 3 months someone returns, they can always add you back, right? no need to remain "non friends" forever if they return...unless they take your deleting as something personal (which is absurd).

no, never friends are friends they don't change, i think they shouldn't be delete if they are inactive for sometime because the friends are not made because they are active or inactive maybe after sometime they become active.

Well Lightnin I have deleted a feww griends. I don't see any sence in keeping some on my list if they haven't been on for some months. If they haaven't been on for months the chances of their coming back are pretty slim. I want to keep my list at reasonable number to interact with.

I have only knowen them to delet discussions. They did it to a person on my list. They found that he was doing a lot of copying and pasting. He was still listed on here but did not do any more posting. so I don't think they will remove any one. If you go to the members by country you will see mquit a number of members that have only 1 response and that months ago.

I think that mylot should do that work for us, so if someone doesn't even login to mylot in more than 4 or 5 months, the account should get erased. That way this debate wouldn't be necessary.

I do delete some of them, not because of their inactivity, but because some I got tired of seeing them pop-up on "my friend's discussion list." I do these to give way to other potential good poster, those of which I know can provide me good topics to read and enjoy posting at. I mostly try to limit my number of friends here, so I can do my best to share some of my opinions that I know can be helpful not only to them but also for the whole community!;)

Actually I do that quite frequently. Of couse I won't delete someone after a few days - they might be on holiday unwell, or just taking a break from MyLot, but if their inactivity remains for a couple of months I will delete them. Like you, I like to keep in touch with my friends' discussions, and the more "friends" there are, the more difficult that becomes.

Oh, finally someone who thinks differently lol. Yep, your position is very reasonable too...I don't see that i'm doing anything wrong if someone hasn't logged in in 4 weeks and you decide to delete him or her, right?

I have also thought of deleting those friends that are already inactive since I got a lot of friends requests for the past months. I will eventually delete them somehow. One of these days I would just get round to it. I find that there is no use keeping them anyway since they have been inactive for sometime already. I suggest you do the same.

Hello lightnin. Of the over 240 plus friends I have on my list, almost 3/4 of them are inactive for months now. I didn't bother to delete them thinking they might come back sooner or later. What really perplexed me was some friends who requested to be on my list and once I accepted them, they disappeared or vanished into thin air the following day.

yep, that happens to me too. Some request friendship and never ever post again...weird, isn't it?

I do not delete them since I do not go back to my friends list after I have approved the friendship and set notification on. They might be inactive now, but who knows when they might be active again. I leave it on so that they will continue to receive my support should they start being active again. That's what friends are for, isn't it?

No I would not do that. I think the more friends the better. I don't actually add friends so they can respond to my discussions or so they remain active. I just like to have many friends. I find it easier to find discussions to respond to from my friends. And if they don't respond to my discussions today, they may respond some time in the future.

Hello.lightningstrike,i will not delete any friends on my list no matter they are active or not,,no one know whether other people will come back one day, what if they come back and find out that the yare not on your friend list anymore. I know the feeling of being deleted by someone is not good, may be one day i will be inactive,i hope no one will delete me from their lists as well.

All depends upon you Light, you follow your instinct whether they are worth deleting from your friend's lists or not. In my part, I would say I will still keep them in my lists and give them an ultimatum whether they'll be active in the coming days or not...but when I do see clearly that they aren't, then that's the time I will surely delete them from my lists that way it's much more easier for me to just gather those who participate more and are active here.

Well in my case it'd also depend on who they were. I mean, if it was you, someone really active and nice, and you didn't log in for a month, i wouldn't delete you. But i have people in the list with like 70 posts overall that once added me and have never ever replied to anything at all, nor posted anything themselves...both cases are different.

as a friendly advice, please do not delete our fellow mylotters in your account...just let them stay and just wait and be very patient for them to respond in the discussions....you might not know maybe someday if they might respond they can guarantee you a good earnings in your account....and its better to collect friends than to delete them....it is because the more friends you have the more you are blessed....be friendly and collect friends and have some fun....

I usually don't have any friend who is inactive. There was one referral of mine who was inactive. I even sent him a message but no reply from him. Even his responses showed a zero. So, I thought of deleting him from my friend's list. I am really not bothered whether someone is active or not, but what's the use if he has not even started posting anything. The other day I was just going through my friend's list where I saw this inactive member and I thought of deleting this person's name from the list.
