What movies did you love as a child that you hope your children also love?

I actually just rented The Neverending Story, to see how my son likes it. So far he likes everything that takes place in fantasia, but the rest of it he's not very interested in. I've also shown him Flight of the Navigator, Labyrinth, The Last Unicorn and Legend. He seemed to like them pretty well. Next I'm renting The Dark Crystal. So, what movies did you love when you were younger that you plan on showing to your kids?

I don't have kids of my own, but I think that's cool that your son seems to like a lot of fantasy type movies. I would also suggest The Princess Bride as a good one, particularly if he is close to the age of the little boy in that one... he might really enjoy both parts of the story then. :) When I do have kids, someday, I'm sure they will find it kind of amusing that their mom and dad like to watch cartoons too. We have several DVDs of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain, and I suspect that parts of those will be things that our future kids will enjoy. :)

LOL I have a few Animaniacs videos I've been letting him watch. I sing all the songs to him, too. I need to get more, tho. I actually have all the happy meal toys that came out years ago and they're among my son's favorite toys to play with.

Perhaps my son is still too little to understand movies. We have something in common. We all like watching America's Funniest Homevideos. He laughs and so do I:)

Oh, so many of those that you mentioned are among my favorites! =) My son is only one year old, so we haven't explored many movies yet together, but I really hope he likes some of the same ones I did! We already have some of my old favorites, like Labyrinth and The Neverending Story, but so far he mostly only shows interest in cartoons. I plan on buying other movies I liked as a kid for him later though!

When my son was 1, he was fascinated by Star Wars. I'm not sure why, but he seemed to really pay attention whenever there were light sabers and stuff like that on screen. Now I can't get him to sit down and watch tho. It's a lot of fun introducing him to movies I loved so much and seeing him get excited.

I hope my kids will also love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Labyrinth and The Last Unicorn as they were some of my favourite movies when I was a child! If I have to be honest, I still love them as an adult and have two on DVDs.
