Before I used to back-up important files such as pictures and MP3 music in loads of CDs until I got myself a removable/ portable hard drive. Now I keep this external HD to backup important files in case of a crash. How about you? How do you manage your data storage?

I use 2 forms of backup. We have an external hard drive for back up and we also use a website called mozy.com for backup. You never know when hard drives can fail so it's nice to have a website backing your stuff up as well.

There is a free version of it and the free version gives you enough space to back up emails, pictures and different documents. There is a version to pay and it gives you more space.

I don't back up much really since I have nothing much to store. I do have CD's and save some pictures and videos on them.

You should regularly backup your pictures and videos because these are precious. Cheers!

Yes. Hard Drives are more dependable and can carry large amounts of data.

I only just started the idea of backing up my home folder and pictures and documents,...but instead of using CDs I use DVDs--you need less with them..though eventually might consider getting a separate HD--kind of expensive though..no??

As for me, i use cd for having back-up, although i know HD is better. CD backup is cheaper that's why prefer for it.
