Have you broken any promises you made?

So funny that you mentioned "not the ones you make to yourself" since those are the only ones I break! Usually when I say things like 'I'm going to start doing this' I never end up doing so. I've learned to just let things happen naturally and not write them tell them, because then they don't happen for some reason! As for promises to others, I never say 'I promise I'll...' or 'I swear I'll...' because it's sort of unnecessary. I just say 'I'll do this or that', and if something comes up I call them and let them know I can't make it/do it for whatever reason. I try to stay away from promises to others because I don't want to be seen as someone who breaks them if it happens.

It is very nice of you to tell people beforehand whether you can do a thing or not instead of keeping in suspense. Promises we make to ourselves are the most broken ones like I promise not to smoke I promise to diet I promise to help wife doing the chores this week end I promise not to drink heavily in parties etc etc

I try not to make promises if I know I won't keep them. When I do promise something, I do keep it. I had promises broken right and left as a child, that when some one promises me something, I am a little skeptical.
