Have you ever made anything out of a gourd? We have made rattles, pipes, vases, dishes. It is truly fascinating how they turn out. Share some of your craft ideas for your gourds.

I love anything that is made out of gourds. They are quite useful too. Years ago they were used for dipping water for drinking. Today I have seen them made into bird feeders, planters, and of course for rattles. I love to use them just as they are for decorations in my home.

why thank you for commenting, elusive butterfly. you are right that they are great for decoration just as they are. they come in such various, odd sizes and shapes. we have one now that we are making a bird house out of.

Clever title! I think I made a gourd decoration once, I put pebbles in it and meant to use it as a vase for flowers. It's kind of hard to have a flat surface on it.

thank you. you have to have the right shape to make a vase. we trimmed a little off of the bottom to level it. pebbles are a good idea for weight. i hadn't thought of that.
