Both are good. In our apartments, there is a waling/running track, but no place to ride a bike. So I walk/run.

Your Mom is right!running is far better than biking. When running you have more control, it is more beneficial to your body and mental health, you dont have to get onto something if you want to make a quick getaway, and you never have to worry about getting a flat tyre.!!!!LOL!!!!

Hi Wino22! :) I love running and biking, at the same time. I was a varsity player for 5 years in Athletics, so you can just imagine that I am really into the sport of running. *hehehe* But during spare time, I choose to go on biking, especially when I want to drop by at my friend's house. Both offers the same advantage. It is in you if which is you want to do: either biking or running. I guess, on your mom's part, she wants you to run (instead of biking), it's because it's safe when you run. Unlike in biking, you may encounter accident if you fell off the bike. But again, it's your choice if which you prefer to do. (",) take care and God bless! \(",)_

running is better for you it helps you with your legs muscles and learn how to breathe proberly but also is better if you ever get attacked from a crazy man or girl plus if you run alot you will have more stamina in the day time since you will go to bed more at night then bike is also good for you helps build your leg muscles going up hill would help alot but i would choose more or less running everyday then biking cause if you get a flat tire or something brakes then you have to carry it all the way home

I am going to go against the grain and say running, I now run three times a week and really enjoy doing it while listening to music, when i beat my personal best for a distance i have a great sense of satisfaction that i achieved it on my own and can feel my body improving, although it does put a great strain on my quads, however they then get stronger and i can improve again. I bike most places when it is not to close or far, and although it quicker and you can work for longer, it helps to have a decent bike which costs money, also i don't like to listen to music in case i put myself in danger because i cannot hear cars, this then makes enjoy the experience less. When i have finished running i am shattered but after about 15 minutes when my body starts to recover i feel great, it isn't just my legs that are tired-did you know one of the most important muscles for running are your abs. I do not get the same feeling after biking, instead my legs just absolutely ache because they are the only area i have been really working. At the end of the day it depends which one you prefer and what you want to gain. If you want to increase your fitness slightly but your legs a lot then go biking, if you want to improve overall fitness then i suggest running. If you just want to do some exercise a few times a week with no focu on really improving fitness then i suggest biking because it can be less exhausting and easier to see sights.

I do not do either of the two as I prefer walking. But if I had to choose only between the two then I would choose biking. Although I wish I could run and have that endurance, but I will never be able to do the running thing. So biking is what will work better for me. Aaahhh if only I could ride a bike...

Well it depends on your interests and how long you do it if you are into losing weight. For me I like biking more than running. i can go to diff places faster than when i am running.

Depends on what you mean by better, many comments pick biking here because it is easier and its not as stressful on your body. At the same time your cardio will most likely get a better workout depending on your running workout and biking workout of course. You could get in great running shape then go biking and be beat, same goes for biking. Both work different muscles, and different speeds and distances work muscles differently.

for me, i think running is better because you get all your body parts moving and doing more intense activity than biking. in biking, sometimes you will a bit of pain in the back. but then you can also try brisk walking - walking fast, its between running and walking, you get what i mean? :)

Biking is better hands down. It's less stressful on the knees and legs, because you're not putting all your weight on them. I have a bad knee, and whenver I had to do a running program I always ended up with shin splints, twice which turned into stress fractures. Never had any problems like that when riding the bike. Only the few embarassing moments when I jumped the curb and the bike went one way and me the other lol :)
