Does it matter if you eat 5 times a day, compared to once a day?

Do you think that only eating once a day stretches the stomach, and conditions your body to eat heavier, maybe fatter foods to tide you over until your next meal the next day, compared with 5 smaller meals, that conditions the stomach to always feel full, without the need of fatty foods to feel satisfied? what do you think?

According to doctors and dieticians, it is not good to take very heavy meal once a day and skip meals other times. 1. It is not good for the digestive system. There are high chances that you will get acidity problems. 2. Having smaller frequent meals helps reduce weight also

a study shows eating small meals frequently is better than eating just 2 or 3 times a day.it is like fuel in our car,if we over fill gas in it then the car does not go smoothly.

You really need to eat many small meals throughout the day. If you only eat one big meal a day, your metabolism slows down considerably. Your body will think it's starving, then when you eat that one meal, it will store it all as fat. It's your bodies way of self-preserving. And yes, I think that if you eat a lot you can stretch your stomach. They say that people who have gastric bypass surgery can stretch their stomachs back out to normal size if they do not stay on the proper diet. Another good way to keep yourself feeling full is to eat lots of fiber, such as bananas, apples with the skin on, whole wheat or multi-grain bread (be sure it is actually whole wheat, and not bleached whole wheat). Always drink plenty of water. That not only helps you to feel full, but it helps to purge your body of all the toxins and other bad things.

Eating just one meal a day slows down your metabolism, as your body prepares for the *starvation* it has been conditioned to expect. It stores that food as energy to get it through, and you gain weight. You also run the risk of becoming so hungry that you will over eat, and make poor food choices. It is suggested that by eating 3 small meals, and 3 small snack at regular intervals through the day, your body will speed up it's metabolism, you will start burning fat instead of storing it, and you will lose weight. Drinking at least 8 glasses a day is also recommended, as it reduces fluid retention, helps with digesting food, alleviates fatigue, and can reduce that feeling of hunger. If you feel hungry, but it is not time to eat, drink a glass of water, wait 20 minutes...your hunger will ahve faded :)
