4th Of July Flag Craft.....With Picture!!

Attached is a picture of a 4th of July Flag craft that my daycare children did today.
We used a file folder for the background, but you can use white construction paper. I had alot of file folders and used those.
Older children can cut out the red stripes themselves. For the younger children, I cut them out. Have the child glue the stripes onto the paper. Add a blue square in the upper left corner. Here's the fun part.... make popcorn and let the kids glue popcorn for the stars! My kids loved this, they were soooo excited.
Word of caution....please supervise young children with the popcorn. We don't want any choking accidents!

I think that is a great idea. It looks like kids would have a great time making this. I am babysitting my granddaughters on Thursday and we are having our own little 4th of July party. That will be a great thing for us to make. Thanks for the idea.

Ok ...........I think I'm unlucky here.The last 2 days 3 with today there is a glitch at mylot and many photos seems only with a red X ,and nothing else.I have again same problem,they fix for few hours and after again same.
I'm sorry I couldn't see the photo of yours.I'll be back to check.

For some of us the images are still broken. It is not anything you have done. I am pleased that some of the avatars have come back, and your photo will show when the rest of the problem is fixed.

You are always good with your crafts for kids. I really applaud all you do with the children. SO many daycare centers just flop them down and they watch TV. I cannot see the picture as many are x'd out lately, but I am sure it is adorable.

I loved being able to enrich kids lives when I had a home daycare. It is so very superior to institutional type daycares. Your project is good because it is adaptable for many ages, and it is a good teaching point as well. I can tell that the kids at your place do not just sit and watch television and videos. Did you say what age range of children you care for? Did the older ones help the younger ones? I like the fact that you recycled your old file folders. Another use is to trace off patterns for things on the folders to use for making cut outs. They hold up well and the price is right.

Right now the youngest I have will be 2 in Sept. The oldest is 5 and will be going to kindergarten in Sept.
My daycare is separate from my other living space in my home. We converted our attached garage into the daycare. I don't have any tv or videos in my daycare room. I find that the parents like that, they like for their kids to be busy and not sitting in front of tv.

Great craft! My daughter loves crafts- We do them all the time- I bet my nephew would enjoy doing this one- I should take a picture down to daycare- there are a lot younger kids and they do a craft a couple of times a week. I bet they would love it- I am sure I’d eat the popcorn prior to them putting it on the flag- LOL

Now i can see it, this is great, i feel like U are a great creative person, keep doing good job like this and involve more with the child activities like this event...4th of July is that kind of event where we can show all our ability and U are so good at it...

When I saw the title of the discussion, I knew it had to be you. Another one of your crafts that you have done with your daycare children. I think it is great that you have some great activities to keep your children using their imagination and being creative. Keep up the great work.

This sounds like a great craft. My girlfriend runs a daycare and I will have to pass this on to her. She like you would have to seperate the little ones. I think the craft is a great idea. My daughter is sixteen and she doesn't do many crafts any more. Every now and then I might get her to color a little on those fuzzy posters. I think doing crafts keeps young peoples minds very active.

That's kewl, daycarepal. Now why can't I come up with something creative like that to do with my daughter? I'm not creative as in crafts, but with animals and nature. They are my true passion and I do enjoy teaching my daughter how to truly enjoy the outdoors.

I have 4 little ones here at home with me over the summer months. And its not always the best weather to go outside (to hot). So I think your craft will be something we will try very soon and have fun inside.
