Summer Solstice

what is the significance of the summer solstice? other than it being the longest day of daylight during the year... thanks

I didn't really have a celebration this year because I have been very ill with vertigo. Somehow it's harder to celebrate when the whole world is spinning so fast you feel like you're going to fall off. I did do some very nice meditation, but I was really disappointed that I didn't get to celebrate more. I hope that next holiday I'm more up to it! My one-year-old son did a lot of dancing around to summery music drumming up energy though! =p

I really didn't do anything. I was planning on doing something, but I got lazy and the days got away from me. I usually just think about the significance of the day, light a candle, and observe the sunset. Simple things can really make the day special.
