Mailing Special Letters... has anyone received a flyer like this in the mail?

I received a letter today (not sure how they got my name and home address either) but its regarding stuffing and mailing letters out, but before you can begin you have to pay an administration fee before they mail the stuff to you to send out. According to the flyer you also get your application fee back after the third pay check i.e. after the third lot of lettes you send out. Just wondering whether this is some sort of scam? or if it isn't whether anyone does this as another way of earning extra income? Appreciate any views on this, thanks.

The minute something requires money from you in order to make money, you should be skeptical. I've never done anything like this, but I have a friend who did it and it was indeed a scam.

Oh dear. I'm sure that is probably a scam. Your address was probably sold to the company by some company that you joined online. I would be very leary of sending any money. Many people have talked about these types of places being scammed. You could run the company's name through the Online Better Business bureau if you are interested in joining their services. I would do that before I sent any money their way! Good luck!

Thanks crazynurse for your response. After reading what others had to say I ripped it up and threw it in the rubbish. I have yet to check out the Bureau but I will as I often receive unsolicited mails like this.

Since you don't have any knowledge of how it got there in your email, I would be real careful. Email letter like that asking you to pay a certain amount fee definitely scream scam. Maybe, you had inquired on this site and they were able to get hold of your personal info and details. What you described was like the one I saw in some sites offering part time online job.

I agree, most definitely a scam. I received it in the letter box yesterday along with another one asking me to join some secret special group LOL The rubbish we receive in the mail is unbelievable. Thanks charms for responding.

I am apprehensive of such schemes, where they will send something to you but you have to pay something first. This is different from ordering some product or service, where prior payment is required before delivery. Smells like a scam to me. Even if it doesn't look like one, I will feel sceptical. It's easy to find people's name and address. Just look into the phone book. That's probably how many of the unsolicited mails we receive reach our home address.

Thanks for your response lexus54. I thought it was scam and needed to hear from others whether it was or not. I am tired of receiving these unsolicited mails, I got another one today asking me to join a secret club because I was special or something for free - it looked like a chain letter to me - what utter rubbish!!

I actually got something like the the other day. You have to pay $40 to start and it guarentees to pay $1000 your first month. Of course I just shread it.

Please tear up that letter and follow this rule: Never, Ever PAY for a job! This scam is so old that it was running when I was a kid! :) Here's a resource for you: http://www.homewiththekids.com That can help you find the real deal, and it's free! Good luck! :)

The best bet is to do your research on this company and what it does before you agree to do anything. Contact the Better Business Bureau for information about this company as well as call around to see if anyone else has heard of them and whether it is a scam or not. You can also call their number if it listed or write to them and ask a lot of questions. Be careful my friend as it is hard to trust any company or person that sends flyers out like that.

Thank kgwat70 for your response, and your right, another person posted the web address for the Bureau as well so if I received anymore I will check them out. I decided after receiving all the other responses above that its rubbish and have already ripped it up and thrown it away. Thanks again for taking time out to post.

don't do it! i did this about 7-8 years ago and they give you a paper and what not but you have to get copies. then after doing all of this and sending them you only get if someone buys what you are mailing out. you may stuff 1000 a day and not get a penny. i think it is a scam in a round about way.

I have heard of people stuffing envelopes for payment...but I am not sure about the reputability of this company...I would do some research before I considered sending them my money though...just to be safe...there are so many scams out there....would hate to see you get taken advantage of....like you said...where did they get your name and home address....makes you wonder.....

Definitely a scam. But,for future reference, if you aren't sure about whether something is legitimate or not, you can always go to www.bbb.org and do a search for the company. :) Good luck!!

Dont do it. It is just a scam that they put out in the mail. And dont think that they can't get your address... it is just everywhere... well, I never sign up stuff or agree with anything that it's not relate to my business... if they want to deal with me come in person and write me an official letter. I always throw those stuff away.

The best scam of all. Never ever pay someone you don't know. If you have no clue as to where the email came from or who it came from, then you should not reply in any way. Throw away that mail. Those don't work, I tried it once and they took a lot of money, I got nothing in return.
