Flowers or Candy to make up after an arguement?

Which will work to make amends for an arguement? Would flowers do it? Or candy?

Personally I would choose the flowers. Unfortunatly the picture of the flowers below won't do, you'll have to make a purshase. Good luck working it out

Flowers, I think. However, I get angry when he wasted money on flowers because they are expensive and then they die. I'd rather he take me out to eat or buy me jewelry.

But isn't that the point? The flowers are a luxury and so they have more meaning.
