Well, while I was growing up my family raised goats. While most of our goats were as dumb as the dirt they lay on, some were born rather smart (for a goat). One goat in particular, after watching us open the gate (a simple latch, like what you'd use for a chain-linked fence), managed to figure out how to do it himself. He'd stick his nose under the latch and lift it up. He was an oddity...while every other goat would headbutt the fence to try and get out, he'd just stroll up to the gate and lift the latch. While I don't think you can train them as well as you could a dog, you could possibly teach them a trick or two.

i'dasy you can train about anything if you have the patience. you can even train your boss by yelling "money!" and he'll jump!

Goat - A herd of goats.
Goats are hard-headed and so in the Holy Bible, men who disobey God are compared to goats and they will be thrown into the lake burning with fire and sulfur. I don't think they could be trained or if ever, it would be very hard. But really they are good for meat and accordingly the milk is the most nutritious of all.

I think with the right amount of patience, and treats...you can train a goat. I don't know if I would have the patience to do so, but everyone has their own level! :) I found a cute video of a girl that has a goat she trained to jump along with her...lol. and it also comes when she calls! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCSx6FaYNOE Here is a video of someone who taught a goat to turn a light on... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdifO0GQ9eU Enjoy!

I don't know about farm goats but I think rams can be. I've seen rams smoking and fighting on peoples signals! Well in movies too I haven't notice any significant goat-played part, accept some farm scenes where they are shown murmuring something, as they keep on chewing something! But the thing is that animals understand warmth and human are the greatest trainers on earth, so nothing should be unattainable! But again I think lams, kids, I mean small goat and lambs have often been shown in snippets to respond to calls and do tricks!! Keep trying your goat may too jump someday...... Before signing off I got a remembrance of circus where goats did do some tricks, so there we go, goats can actually perform, yes GOATS CAN BE MADE TO DO TRICKS!!!
