Why do my discussions never cross 30 responses ?

I creare at the max one or two discussions a day. I leave suffient gaps between them so that it get more exposure. I have more than 250 friends most of whom are active , yet I dont know why my discussions close so early. I can find many people getting over 100 responses , so how do people achieve this. I find it to difficult to get 30 responses. I hve triend my best and only twice I have succeeded. So if there is any other work necessary to get more responses , do tell me , I am eager to get my discussion as a hot topic and get atleast 100 responses. I depend on you friends entirely.

The get your discussions at hot topics don't mean that you gonna take 100 responses,I know it very well lol:
Now about your friends.....I have exactly same problem with you.Many of them didn't come even if i go to them discussions.For example you didn't came at my last discussions either,and I don't mention for you come but only as example.Why?Only you can know.
Now about me,I try go to all my friends but the most of the time I haven't so much free time so if some they start more than one discussion per day I response at least at one for I can go to all friends.

I have many more friends than you and as I write here I saw another 2 friend request for me.I always except the friend request.I totally agree that my topics can be not interesting for some members or they haven't something to say.I just wonder why they didn't check my profile first before they ask friend request.I don't start many topics and the most of then are around parenting,life ,children issue,so if some one can't find something to say at my topics (and I don't mean you)why he ask be my friend?
Isn't best first we check the profile of the person first we see if we have same interesting and after we ask be friend.
Anyway I wish good luck at your next topic of yours,I wish soon you get over than 100 responses.

You are right.I don't want anyone give me answer if haven't nothing to say and I haven't problem when anyone of my friend didn't response to me,I just wonder only for those they choose me as a friend and after 2-3 months never came.You will see at the future that many people here just they add friends with the hope they get as much response they can but never care about them interest or them topics.
Anyway is nice place here and I enjoy being here,I hope you too.
PS:Don't forget tell me when you get over than 100 responses.

As you say it mat not be always so, but I had got it once. I hardly had 20 friends then. It was a few days after I joined Mylot. So if it had not been to the Top Discussion how would I hvae got so many responses. So A way of getting more responses is to make your discussion to the hot topics. And as your say about friends , Theu man not have found interesting points to put forward in your discussion. I dint get information poits on Powercut and Child aclcohol. So I avoid it rather than posting a nonsense response which may lead a negative rating. They other thing you have said about friends is also unquestionalbe. They may not ahve had time or may not have noticed your discussion. Your are policy of responding to one discussion per friend is simply superb. Good Luck !!

The simple and the main reason is that 30 people never responded to your discussion :) but you are saying 30 mine max is 12 :( even i have 30 friends but no on ever respond to mine even i do respond to them. :) so buddy just rock and have fun and dont get worried

As you say more the number of friends, moe the responses. I have around 280 friends,most of them are active still....Anyway thanks for your words.

I have over 250 plus friends on my list and only a handful of them are actively partaking in my threads. I can even list down the names of my supportive friends within second.
Try to be more active with your friend's discussions so they can reciprocate the same gesture. I only turned the notification "on" for this supportive friends. The rest I select randomly through friend's discussions.
You might like to post threads that are of general interests. Topics that most mylotters can relate to. Good luck and happy mylotting.

I can see your are supportive. Thank you !! I can feel that my notify is on. Your policy is the best, that what the friends expect too. You help them and they will help you. This notify on feature is good , I get to find inteesting discussions. I once again thank you for your care and support.

Do you answer all of the discussions of your 250 friends? It is impossible in the time I have to answer every single discussion of my 140+ friends. I answer those that interest me, and what I can respond to. Maybe broaden your topics. Try to create topics that interest everyone. And topics no one is afraid will be deleted. I usually get 25-30 responses, some discussions have netted more eben one close to 100. I don't worry about it, as long as I get good quality responses, I am happy. Just relax and do whatever makes you happy. It will come.

You are right, It is impossible to respond to disucssions created by all your friends. I respond to discussions which interest me. Thanks for you suggestion, I will make my topic more clean and attractive.

First of all, I hope my this response can give you one vote to pass 30 responses:)
Obviously you have more friends than me in Mylot. In fact you should get replies easily. I think you need to think out a good topic so that others can discuss about it. But I think the main reason is sometimes you have to also reply to your friends' discussions. Then your friends will try to reply to yours as an appreciation. At least this is the way I usually do.

Maybe your friends did not see your discussion or there are some more discussion that catches their attention thats why they dont respond on your discussion.

Hi pal, let me be the 32nd person to respond to this post! So glad to see you've crossed your norm of 30 posts, let's see how far you can go. I used to feel the same way until I got a discussion which got over 80 responses and it took me days to respond to all of them and I didn't even have time to go check my friends' new discussions those few days! Not always the nest thing to have a discussion with lots of responses, if you are asking for advice and the first few people who respond give you sufficient info to be getting on with, why would you want to receive another 100 posts to say the same thing? Be happy with the level of responses and hopefully good quality responses you are getting :)

Hello praveen,discussions stsrted by you are based on good subjects. I also find that you are sincere in mylot. So there is nothing to worry about lack of responses. I too face the same situation. Even I have earlier opened a discussion on the subject. We from our part can do nothing but improve the quality of our discussions, select very popular subjects and post regularly. Responses are to come from others. It will come, for sure. Wish you all the best.

Yes I agree with you. Thank you for giving positive feedback on my topics. Iam sorry that you too are in a similar situation. I dint know you had a discussion on this earlier. If I had known i would not have started , as it violates the rules. I am always trying to put up a best of my self. I dont find bad if my discussion lack quality because friends like you will give me reviews on my mistakes.

Yes exactly. I generally post reponse to all those on my friends list. It also depends on 'I respond to yours if you respond to mine'. So if you aren't responding to your friends discusiions they would also ignore you. So its symbiosis and mutual cooperation. Let's coperate to dominate. I will make sure that i repond to yours and you make sure that you respond to mind. Deal? What do you say.

Most people just respond to things that they know of or know the subject. Also, it might not be in their interests. They might have a lot of friends as well, so they wouldn't see your topic in the last 5 discussions their friends made.

You are right in someway. But if this is the sitatuion , I would not even get 30 responses. Every time you comment or rate your discussion , you discussion will POP up first in the list. So then more the chances of friends notifying. Even then I dont find many people responding.

Start changing or adding friends. It goes in cycles it seems. I have changed my friends lists many times myself. I've never recieved 100 responses that I know of anyhow. But I am happy with 30 even. I have 248 friends and get around 30 average responses per discussion as well. The only thing I can say is that friends with the same interests as yourself is the main reason for getting a large amount of responses. Quality discussions and respond more to your friends discussions as well are all keys.

Not every discussion lasts 30 response. Not everyone will find every topic appealing. I'm sure that you don't reply to every single discussion either, so sometimes its just a matter of finding the rights things to talk about at the right time. But i'm here helping you reach you goal, your one post closer :)

hey i have got 37 max responses on my discussion followed by 25 responses, only have 170-180 friends uptil now but i do reply on my friends discussions myself so i wanted to know that do you reply to your friends discussions?
you should start the discussions in the interest from which it is most related and where there are a lot of people, comment on every response you get for your discussion because doing this, will make your discussion go on top of the discussio friends started list. hope you have read the post by ronreyes in which he has told the secrets of getting more responses, if you haven't seen that post the here is the URL: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1118753.aspx

Outside of Paris Hilton, none of the discussions I have started have broken the ten mark. And I have tried putting discussions in the General catergory, different times of the day, making sure that I respond to everyone--nothing seems to work for me. And none of the topics I thought would be hot were. So if you figure it out, let me know too.

Congrats! You crossed 30 responses! Well, most people need some sort of connection to the topic so that they can respond whole-heartedly.. something that relates close to the heart.. like relationship experiences and such.. So you really need to put out more discussions that you might think your friends find irresistable to respond to.. Anyways good luck! and wishing you all the best in future discussions!
