Alright, I was at this restaurant last week with my friend. He and I both noticed that a woman was staring at us more than usual. We didn't know what to do. What would you have done? Do you think starring is rude? Why or Why not? Thanks.

Yeah it definitely depends on the situation. Staring is usually rude but if you're staring at a hot chick then its basically a compliment. When peoople look at me for longer than I want them to I simply wave or make a funny face at them. They are usually embarassed and look the other way. Cheers!

yes it is very rude. I have had an experience like this once and said something to the woman...it got ugly and I left. She had some sort of problem. It can be annoying and it makes you wonder why they are doing this.

Thanks for posting. That sounds really nuts. It is sad when people get weird on us. It happens.

Yes it can be considered rude but what if the person knew you? Different story right... it's happen to me a few time ok more than a few times people stare at me all the time.. I feel like i have something on my face or something but i really don't.. it makes me wonder sometimes why people do that.. Is it because maybe i'm attractive or ugly and they are laughing on the inside and thinking things...

I don't think staring is rude per se...but it is very awkward. That has happened to me, if someone is staring in a public place in daylight - I usually do something to either make them stop, or tell me why they're looking so much. I might smile at them or wave, or stare back. They will then either realize that I know they've been staring and look elsewhere, or tell me I have something stuck in my hair or toilet paper on my shoe or something...haha! It it's nighttime and not many are around, I'd get on my cellphone and pretend I'm calling someone, and then say (loud enough to hear) something like, "hey what's up. Nothing much here, except someone is looking at me sort of weird..." and that might scare them away.

well, it depends why she was staring. Perhaps she found you and your friend familiar? like she was trying to recall whether she knew you? otherwise, if it's a hostile kind of stare, then ofcourse it's quite rude. if it's someone of the opposite gender than chances are they find you attractive. but even then it's seldom just a stare. usually that would be accompanied by a smile.
