If so there is a wonderful site you must go to for booking your lodging.. They offer the best rates anywhere.. If you go to http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/spain You will find countless links to lodging areas available in Spain. One of my favorites is in Barcelona..Did you know that in Barcelona the fish do not sink??Can anyone tell me why? It is a fact.. Besides their unsinkable fish..Barcelona is known for it's many palaces and musuems.. Book yourself a room..cheaper then a hotel by going to this link: http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/spain/barcelona You will find in Barcelona a very rich history and many picture taking sites! I don't know the value of a Euro..but I have seen rooms for as low as 27 euro.. Another Great tourist city in Spain is Madrid..and every one knows of the famous running of the bulls..I don't know that I would like to be running from a bull but many people love to go see this attraction. My friend's site list many places to lodge in Madrid http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/spain/madrid From what I am told they have the lowest prices guaranteed and they accept payment right on arrival you don't have to book ahead. The rooms listed appeal to both the travelling business man and the relaxing vacationer. I love travelling and if I can't travel; I love looking at the beautiful sites through browsing the internet. This site is really the best for lodging rates.. Let me know what you feel about it.. I am not the owner of this site..It is a friend recently made.. http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/spain Just a little memento..It was the Queen of Spain..I believe then sent of Christopher Columbus to the new country we now call USA

I had missed this discussion. I'm not travelling to Spain, but I would love to. I was there more than twenty years ago, both in Barcelona and in Madrid. In Madrid I went to a "hostal" (kind of bed and no breakfast) whose owner have just opened it, so everything was new there. It was very near to the "Puerta del Sol". In Barcelona I lodged at a hotel that was on the "Paseo de Gracia" avenue. At that time, Spain was much cheaper than the rest of Western Europe (except perhaps Portugal, where I did not visit). When you lived in Portugal, did you go to Madrid and Barcelona?

I am not traveling to Spain in the near future but that is definitely a place that I would like to see sometime during my life. Thank you for that website as I will take a peek at it. I may just change my mind and go sooner than I had planned. My parents have been to Spain and they said it was really beautiful there. It would probably help to learn some spanish as well.
