How close do you stand to people while speaking with them?

There are people, mainly near sighted ones, who put their faces about 12 inches from yours while talking, while some stay at a respectable 3 ft. distance. How about you, do you stand too close or too far. How do you feel when someone comes too close.

Very wise, although some might be doing just the opposite.

I like to stand arm distance away; closer or furhter depending on the person and environment. I can't stand it when people get too close. I naturally started leaning backwards without even noticing it.

I find myself doing that a lot, I mean leaning back - but I try to pull back without looking too rude.

I was nearsighted most of my life until I had lasik surgery a few years ago and I never stood too close to people, even if I didn't have my glasses on. 12 inches seems too close to me, but it really hasn't happened enough that I can even recall an instance of it happening.

I am also nearsighted, with high myopia, but I have had many people who stand so close that it make me uncomfortable, and I try to pull back without being rude.
