depend what feature suit your need. phpnuke is awsome but postnuke less diskspace with same feature module, just like mambo with joomla .. joomla is lighter. phpbb is nice forum but if your site just contain forum ... 'coz postnuke have also have module just like phpbb called pnpbb that is lighter with same feature and look&feel. and takes less diskspace than phpbb+phpnuke. so if you could more detail about need from your site. and also consider database usage and avoid large image to keep your bandwitdh. good luck.

while imported database to database is there any problem found? do not changed format from sql file while uploading it, and tried to upload your files once again and choose "Replace if it newer" on your ftp software, often this problem occure when there is corrupt files from your phpnuke or changed format sql database while importing it. I once used phpnuke before but my friend suggested my changed it with postnuke because it's more lighter script than phpnuke, I don't know what he's mean but after 2 week bandwith usage 50% from month before, but user visited my site from log increased before I used postnuke. same feature same layout. hehehe... perhaps you should try it to.

it depends on what kind of site u want.. if u are looking for a forum or something of the sort i would recommend trying smf and usebb... apart from php nuke i think u shud try using joomla or mambo.. they are gr8 cms and fairly easy 2 modify and have gr8 support online.. u can try a demo here for joomla http://demo.joomla.com/ and for mambo go here http://demo.mamboserver.com/

If you want an ordinary website CMS, I would recommend Drupal,Mambo or Joomla. For Wikisites=Mediawiki, For Blogs = Wordpress and for forum sites= phpBB.

thanks for the response i have found out how to handle joomla now with scripts i found on the net. i like phpnuke because of its being user friendly but you cant modify it well and small errors will make your database clutter and site down. nweyz, tnx for the suggestion guys!

i use phpnuke i have also tries these joomla and mambo, i really liked joomla but the problem was it dont have too much plugins meaning like blocks and modules to get and it also didnt have that many templates so i just went back to phpnuke but i think joomla was quite good but it is quite complicated but phpnuke is quite simple and you get over 1000 plugins for it and also great templates, i usally like flash templates, i think you should stick back with phpnuke as if you try joomla you wouldnt find good templates for it or niether good plugins same for mambo, phpbb is a forum not a contect managment system, phpbb comes with phpnuke, and it is very easy to use, in joomla admin erea it is very hard, i am with phpnuke you could check my site out www.cellphonejunky.co.uk made with phpnuke, my site is all about mobile phone and it has alot of mobile phones games and apps also it has ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, themes, startup screens for all phones, it is all for free so you could check it out, hope you enjoy my site !!
