WHOAH slow down, what happened to the friendly desertking and open minded one that was happily posting discussions in mylot? Your feeling low at the moment which I understand, but life is much more worth living than deciding it's not. Take time out from whatever that is making you low, find something that you do that will make you feel better about yourself - What do you like doing desertking? what makes you happy? can you think of things that make you smile? even laugh a little? Sometimes we all get down and out and feel life is not worth living, and sometimes letting it all out might help you to refocus on you again and what makes you happy in life. We are here in mylot to listen too, so keep posting and let it all out. It might help and if it doesn't then you may just need a little bit for help from others other than your mylot friends.

Well it sounds like you are very depressed and anti-depressants sound like the answer. Go to your doctor and tell him that you are depressed and see what action he suggests you do. He may put you on anti-depressants right away. Go to the doctor.

I agree with this. Go to the doctor immediately and get some help. you are suffering from depression and that is a serious disease which can destroy your life. It is not anything to be ashamed of ,but please go get help now!!!

I do agree with the others that you do need some kind of counseling of some kind...someone professional to talk to, but also consider going to a regular doctor as well...have a medical check-up cause it just might also be something medical/physiological that might be triggering this as well. And I know you may not want to do this because sometimes in the depth of depression one can't think of anything to be positive or grateful about but try to think of things that you are grateful in life..even simple things...like being able to see these words on your computer, seeing the computer, being able to see the sky, flowers, to hear birds, hear music...No life isn't meant to be living in every single second with happiness...none of us can be "happy" all the time...but just try to see something anything that is good in your life and be thankful for it--be thankful that you have friends here at MyLot who love you and are thinking of you with loving thoughts of peace of mind

I think you need to hear some music. You have an illness that can be healed with some good jazz or old drums. If you are intereste I will recommend you some different recordings so that you can choose from variety. But don't worry, you will recover from that soon!

Snickey I had depression myself and I overcomed it with music. I think maybe it is different for each one. When I had it, psicologues told me to do excercize and that made my situation worse, because I felt much worse when doing excersize. Desertking1981, I am sorry I didn't notice your request until today. I am happy you liked my recommendation, and I hope this worsk for you. Thoose are the recordings that saved my life at that time: -My people, by Joe Zawinul -Secret Story, by Pat Metheny -8:30, by Wheather Report -Return of The Brecker Brothers, by The Brecker Brothers -Transition, by Peter Erskine -many recordings from musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jack Dejohnette, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker... I hope this helps.

Hi missak. Although I appreciate your suggestion about how music can enhance one's life, I don't believe that it can be the cure for depression. The gift of music can definitely enhance one's life, but depression is a medical condition caused by low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. Exercise can help to raise the levels of these brain chemicals, but very often medication is necessary to treat the low levels of the chemicals listed above. Also, depression is passed on from one generation to the other.

Dear deserking 1981,Dear God I hope you are still with us. Pyewacket suggested we pray for you and my prayers are starting now. I read the loving support you received from other mylotters and hopefully that gave you a life-line to hold onto until you find some answers. I believe at one point or another along their life path most people have...or will think that life is not worth living and contemplate leaving. I was there and came very close to ending it all on more than one occasion in the past. But you know what desertking1981...if I had I wouldn't be enjoying what life is giving me now. Happiness, health, contentment and an opportunity to share what I discovered (and keep discovering) with others. I am so grateful for the gift of life but I didn't always feel that way. I pray you will not give up on yourself...because the circumstances will change and you can heal...trust it because those of us who have lived through it are walking testimonies. What I now know for sure...everything has a beginning, middle and end...even the darkest, most desperate events eventually come to an end. When we come out the other side of it...there is usually a depth of understanding that is not there in the beginning. I hope you will reach out to anyone you can...family, friends clergy...strangers...anyone who can keep you afloat. Do you have a toll free crisis line that you could contact? Please do whatever you can to allow others to be the wind beneath your wings until you can find an air thermal and fly above your current suffering.

I am so relieved to hear that you are hanging on to yourself and your life. You have been receiving a lot of prayer support, love and light from your Mylot community and we all want you to know your life has value and so do you. Whatever it is that has had you so overwhelmed will pass...and you will learn to appreciate life more as a result of it. At least that is the way many of us feel and have said on your many responses. I also noticed you have a blue star with a high reputation rating...my dear freind that should be an indiator to you that what you are contribting on Mylot has merit and value. Your are a spark from the Divine...and it has been said God does not make junk. Please do not throw the gift of life away...hang on...pray for answers, direction and clarity and it will be given. There is great power in the reality of Ask...and you shall receive. You have already asked for help by posting your request. I truly pray all that you need to know will be given to you and that your life will begin to have meaning and purpose for you again soon.

I have felt the exact same..like you can't get out of this rut and you don't know how you got there so you don't know how to get out. I would suggest going to a therapist..a GOOD ONE!They really help you to figure out underlying issues that you might not even know are going on in your brain. It could be anything from damage from your childhood that you don't even remember or a chemical imbalance in your brain.Just know that you're not CRAZY!!! CRAZY IS WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW YOU'RE CRAZY. Everyone hits bad points in their life no matter what their life is like, it's human nature, but it's also human nature for people to step in and try to help you sort yourself out.I think you'll be fine just try to keep your head up, seek some help and you'll be out of the darkness before you know it.If you ever need to talk to someone message me and I will give you my personal email address and if you have yahoo my username is: lvlelissalnlicole My thought's are with you.

Lissaboo! I so agree with everything that you are saying here in regards to depression! Keep up the good work! We definitely need to see more people like you on MyLot! It is apparent that you have a true understanding of depression, and that it is a medical, rather than negative attitude condition. You are so right when you note, "Crazy is when you don't know that you're crazy!" I love it! ;.D

Please check my profile about how to take care of your health. Depression often means that our brain has not got enough of Omega3 fats that seem to be very important food for the brain. We also need to avoid sugar and other fast carbs to avoid "sugar depression". I was depressed for many years too, then started to take cold pressed salmon oil and vegetable cold pressed oils and I am now feeling much happier and can see lots of things in a positive way. I think the other food supplements have helped too. I wish you a good life and many happy days in the future when you find out how to take care of yourself.

You could eat cold water fish, such as salmon and other fat fishes. The Omega3 is in the fat. You could also eat milk products from cows or goats that have been fed with natural grass. All cold pressed vegetable oils are also good. 60% of our brain consists of fats so we´d better feed it and not avoid fats. Fish is best but not fried.

will you suggest me some food from which I can able to get omega3 fat? I take sugar but only 1tsp daily. Is this is also avoided for my well being? Thank you very much for your support and care. take care dear.

The first part of your first sentence has me gasping!! Not everyone's life is sweet and beautiful and full of happiness. That only seems to happen on Disney Land. Maybe for some people they experience sweet and beautiful and happy. Holy hamburgers - I don't! You don't need anti-depressants, you need to move your butt, get active and find an interest that gets your will moving. If nothing motivates you to get out of bed, then row that boat as hard as you can and just move. There is no-one more awesome than one who has been to the depths of their dark place and come out the other end. The human experience can be very difficult for many people. It's not all roses and chocolates. Have a go, you may surprise yourself.

My dear friend, thank you for your words also. I have learned the hard way that I have choices to either drown in my own dark places and be the victim of the human condition as it is, or I can stand up and be counted, for what that may be worth. It is only my eyes that need to be impressed by my own achievements, and the more I wallow in my own self pity the harder it is to see my greatness. “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear. Consider the flea! – incomparably the bravest of all the creatures of God, if ignorance of fear were courage.” – Mark Twain Consider this quote, because at the depth of our dark places we feel as hopeless and as insignificant as a flea. But fleas can be magnificent when they overcome adversity.

desertking, in a way you earn well and so no problem in that area, but life is not only money. With your money you can buy friends but not true friends, lust but not love and luxury but not happiness. Find it in your heart to help others less fortunate than you, charity organizations could also use physical help, if you don't trust them with money. I always donated some amount of money when I was still employed. My earning wasn't top notch, but it's always there. Now I have a small shop, I can't donate anymore, I have to go with budget and so I'm limited in time and money.

just to add, once you go out there and help others, you will see that like everyone else there is a reason why you were born into this world, your help and presence is important, you will see that life is worth living for.

Hey desertking, occupy yourself with other things even if they aren't necessary, that will make you busy. go to entertainments like concert partites, comedy shows and you'll laugh off you head and forget this treacherous thought of yours. love your life and love God for who you're now. you have whatever is there for a living. simply engage yourself always and you'll be happy forever dear one. God loves you so you have to love your life too. good luck.

canjo13317, I totally agree with you! I adopted a dog, who can be seen in my profile picture, and he is the love of my life (along with my great friends and family members, of course ;.) I waited too long to get my dog, and he has brought a great deal of laughter into my life. Of course, my strong faith in God and the appropriate antidepressants made truly made the difference in my quality of life! I have to say that the antidepressant totally improved my condition which enabled me to enjoy my dog to a much greater degree.

you know what? from the my point of view. you need someone or something to make you going.something is missing. me and my husband experienced that way years ago. we've been married for 19 years and got no kids at all. i think it driven us nuts. we felt so incomplete, and not eager to live and we became stagnant.one day one of my close friend told us to adopt a baby. we did adopt a baby boy. now we are so eager to watch and take care of our baby, we became so alive and complete. i think you should look for something that is missing in your life, the one that could give you the urge and the will to go on.goodluck!!!!

Hi hon. Your friend Pyewacket pointed out your discussion to me and I am here to lend you my support and friendship. Sometimes life gets everyone down at one point or another, even to the point of having no desire to live life anymore. I checked out the other responses here, and everyone has posted awesome suggestions that I think would definitely be very beneficial for you to put to use. Please especially heed those that are encouraging you to seek the help of a counselor. That is the kind of person that knows how to deal with what you are feeling very effectively and he/she can work with you on it and lift you back up. And let your friends help you as well. That is what friends are for is to help each other in times of need and sadness. Please hon....keep having faith that your life IS worth living. You just need to get that helping boost to bring you back up again. I hope you don't mind, but I am sending you a friend's request. I know you don't know me yet, but I would like to be your friend. Take care hon.

Please, I beg you, do not kill yourself. You need to get help before you do anything drastic. I went through a time in my life where I wanted to kill myself. I couldn't picture myself feeling better. But then I got help and I am so much happier right now and I thank God that I didn't kill myself. Believe me, if you get help you will be VERY thankful that you didn't kill yourself.
