What thoughts coming to your mind before going to sleep?

June 30, 2007 10:05am CST
Well, first of all i think about what are the things happened during that day. then what are things i can correct it. after that i will tell to myself it is better to leave these thoughts aside, so that i can start next day with fresh thoughts. what is your opinion on that?

I actually have a very specific thing I do before I go to sleep: I start out a dream. What I mean is that I start spinning myself a fantasy that I hope will continue after I go to sleep as my dream. I have a lot of problems with nightmares because of things that happened to me in my history, and I've found this to be the most effective way of dealing with them. Sometimes other things come into my mind while I am trying to do this exercise, but I've gotten pretty disciplined about acknowledging those thoughts and then moving on from them. If I have a worry about my son, I'll get up and check on him once just to make sure he's okay, but after that usually I don't have too much trouble keeping my thoughts on track.

what you are telling is absolutely correct. it is very difficult to resist the thoughts. one of the best way is whether it is good or bad, allow it to go. so that you can avoid holding in your mind.

most of the time, i have thought of nothing but to quickly go to sleep, but sometimes, i think about what have done in the day and when i have done nothing, i would hate myself very much. so i think it's better to think about your life before going to sleep.
