Have you ever been to jail?

For grins my friend and I were looking up names int he court system. She wanted to see if her boyfriend had been honest about himself. We both didn't have anything though we knew that. We looked up my husband and he had a speeding ticket and something from years ago when he was 18. Someone punched him and he spit on them. He was charged with assault for spitting.

Are you serious? so they didn't do anything to the guy that punched him? that's not fair. well, you know you can't blame them for those convicted. Sometimes they have their own reasons of doing that, and I believe that your friend's boyfriend might don't want your friend to know because he doesn't want her to worry about anything. so did you find out about anything bad about your friend's boyfriend? I hope not. If you get a ticket of anything (except parking ticket or warning ticket), you should to go traffic school and then everything will be clear in your record.

My friend didn't find anything he had not told her about. Good thing he is an honest guy. I was surprised that my husband record showing the assault because it was 13 years ago. Pretty crazy how long some things stay on your record.

No I haven't and I don't want to go. I hear all kinds of horror stories about jail that I make it my business to stay out of trouble and be a good citizen. I have however been arrested for fighting in public with someone who provoked me.

I was arrested for shoplifting when I was 13 or so. I wasn't actually shoplifting, but I was with 2 girls who were and I was aware that they were, so I was just as guilty as they were. I only had to do 8 hours of community service, so I worked for a shift at the local salvation army which was actually pretty enjoyable. I also got tossed in the drunk tank when I was about 17. My boyfriend and I had just broken up a few days before Christmas, a week after my mom admitted she had skin cancer and was going to go away for a few weeks for biopsies and treatment and so at the Boxing Day dance (the day after Christmas) I got loaded on fruity coolers and broke down in the bathroom. I was really despondant and quite hysterical so my parents drove me to the RCMP detachment and left me there for the night to calm down.

I shoplifted when I was about that age but never got caught. I did feel really guilty afterward and never did it again. That sounds like a rough time in your life. I hope your mom survived the cancer. That is such an awful disease!

Thanks for best response! It was a rough time. Thankfully neither of those 2 incidences resulted in me having a record of any sort. When I was dating a police chief's son in a small town a few years ago, I told his dad my stories, and he checked it out and couldn't find any trace, so apparently my local RCMP detachment didn't even bother processing the paperwork for either incident. Just let them slide because they were so minor and victim-less.

I have not been arrested as an adult. I was as a juvenile for trespassing and simple assault. But now my record is clean and I hope it stays that way.

Yes, other than possible driving violations I can't see us getting into trouble with the law.

I've never been to jail, but I've visited people in jail. I hope I never have to go there or even visit there ever again. Luckily, I've only ever gotten pulled over before and only received warnings for both times.

I have never even visited anyone in jail. I wonder when I see jail in a movie what it really looks like. The last time I got a ticket was almost 6 years ago.

I was just a little kid and went with my mom to visit her husband (at the time). I remember we had to get searched and stamped and it was really weird in there. I wonder if the jails now a days are similiar. I would imagine they are even more strict.
