what do you do for fun? What do you do to cheer yourself up - some advice please

Hi everyone, I feel sometimes that life is so serious. Over the last couple of years I have had so much stress and life has been one long dreary existence. I struggle to enjoy anything anymore. What I would like to know is what do you do when you need to cheer yourself up or need to inject some fun in your life. I need some advice on the best ways to release stress, have a laugh and forget about everyday worries.

Yep! A good belly laugh is always good for the soul. It is sad, but most of us adults forget how to be kids...it is really okay to act goofy, play and have fun! Life's too short not to!

Good point. I lost my brother last year so should realise that. I think thats part of the problem though.

Perhaps you may be experiencing a tad of depression. It can creep up on you and then debilitate you. I realize now I actually hit rock bottom about 2 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and my son with schizophrenia...I couldn't laugh if my life depended on it...I prayed and meditated my way through it and finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. You may want to read up on depression...I belong to NAMI and they have a lot of good things and discussions on their website that may help you. www.nami.com

Sometimes I just go for a walk. It helps to clear my mind of my worries and helps me fall asleep faster when I am nervous. Having a good nights sleep is the best way I find to solve the problems that may arise the next day!

I like to go hang out with my girlfriends and have a good laugh. This is something I don't do nearly enough. And I'm like you I tend to take life way too seriously and forget to have fun sometimes. I would just find some friends you enjoy spending time with and who make you laugh and go have a night out with them. That's what I'm going to do Monday night and I'm much over do lol.

SOunds like a good idea. The problem is when I'm out I tend to sit there worrying about this and that. Think I need to learn to lighten up. Thanks for the advice.

Love is All There Is!....do you have a lover? Loving releases stress, injects fun, and much more in to your Life.Read a good book, Have you looked into Spirituality? You seem like a Spiritually minded Person! There are myraids of excellent books on Spirituality in your local Library, or Bookstore. Learn about meditation, and looking within, via Yoga. And remember, Nothing Matters!
