Chewing gum

Do you chew gum on a regular basis? Like after every meal? And do you always keep gum in your bag for it to always be available whenever you need it? I do chew gum after a meal when we are out, if we're home I don't but when we're out I always have to have gum. I just do not feel comfortable talking to people after a meal especially when we've eaten something that contains garlic or onions. There was also one time when the gum that I was chewing just melted in my mouth, eww... that was the first time it happened. Like from the elastic form into liquid in seconds.. has this happened to you?

I can only chew for a few minutes then would have to throw gum away since chewing gum causes my jaw to hurt. I have known of people who can't last a day without chewing gum. The whole day they'd be chewing. Would you believe that? And there's not only a single person, they're a family. Brothers and sisters who keep on chewing gum all day. I think they should be included in the Guinness World of Records. *LOL* The gum melted in your mouth?! You sure? isn't it a little dangerous if that happens? Maybe the gum is expired? That has never happened to me yet. And your right, it's EEwww...!

No, I am pretty sure it wasn't expired, and sure that it wasn't even kinda melted before I chewed it. I can say that it was in perfect condition, I just do not know how that happened, I am also pretty sure I wasn't "overchewing" hahah! As I have had chewed other gums for a longer period of time than that..

Maybe it's one of those gums with sugar coating. That supposedly melts. Maybe that time, there was more sugar coating on it than usual. A mere factory defect, I hope. So how did it taste like? What did you do when it melted? Did it really melt away? or it became smaller suddenly? I've heard from an article that chewing gums is the best way to harm your teeth. Because the sugar deposits it leave on the teeth. Dentists say, it's better to gargle than to chew gum in cases where there isn't any toothbrush.

I use to chew gum all the time. Who doesn't like gum? I mostly would have mint gums I was always drawn to those flavors even when I was younger! You would think it would be the basic bubble gum flavor that I would love has a kid and it was until I had my grandma's spearmint gum one day in church! That was it I just loved that flavor and freshmint from then on. Guess what? Now I hardly chew gum at all! I have it in my purse sometimes but usually end of throwing it out. Why you ask? Well, because with yummy delicious bubble gum it is just way to sweet. Do you think so? With Trident and other gums that are taking the sugar out they are replacing it with chemicals. I don't want that! Why can't they make a gum that has say 1/3 of the sugar in it. There really is no need for all that sugar! I miss chewing gum!

Yes the minty flavors are indeed the best ones, I believe there are brands that have less sugar, I think I have encountered such before, I just do not remember specifically which brand, but you should look it up.

The fact is chewing gum is banned in my country! But still I do like chewing gum once in a while. Just curious how can the gum melt into liquid?

Oh you're from Singapore, I've been there long time ago and that's when I came to know that chewing gum is banned in your country. Can you explain why it is banned there? Or is the act of chewing gum itself not allowed or that throwing or sticking the gum inappropriately is the case? I absolutely had no idea how the gum liquified in seconds.

In the late 80s, we have headache in keeping our city clean because there were expended chewing gum sticking everywhere you name it. So the government made a tough decision to ban it. Now the city is virtually free of gum vandalism though we still face other cleanliness problems. But I think it was a good decision because most people now are more environmentally conscious to keep the city clean.

How did it melted? It haven't happened to me..., I love chewing gums. I used to be an addict and would always have a box in my pocket and a bottle in my office desk. I would chew on a new gum every now and then until I had this stomach problems. It was never linked to my chewing lots of gums but I stop it anyway. I still do buy some mints but I don't chew on them as often. Cheers! Happy Posting :)

I do chew gum. I don't chew it on a regular basis. I love it. I have some in my purse right now as we speak. It is also helpful for when I have heartburn and I just pop a piece in and it gets rid of it. I also chew it so I don't gorge myself on food. It helps me not to bite my nails. I have had gum go from elastic to liquid in minutes. I end up spitting it out because it makes me gag. I usually buy Juicy Fruit gum by Wrigleys and I do know that it is a good gum with good flavor.

So we had the same experience... I really wasn't sure why it melted, I was pretty sure that I wasn't chewing it for a very very long time for that to happen.

Yes it is said that chewing gum speeds up the metabolism, partly that is why I do chew gum after a meal, to aid in digestion. And if you chew gum before eating it'll really make you feel hungry.

Before when my teeth is not false, I used to chew a chewing gum and sometimes my friends called my goat because of constant chewing it even I'm talking. But when my tooth on the left front has a decay and has to be pulled up I used false teeth and It's hard to chew a chewing gum again because it got stick to my false teeth.

Well I only do chew gum when we eat out cause I do not bring a toothbrush and toothpaste with me, and a pack of gum is the easiest thing to have for a fresher breath after a meal.

Nope, I don't chew gum on a regular basis and I don't always keep gum with me in my bag. I prefer mint candies over chewing gum and I always have one with me when I am out. No, I never had gums melted in my mouth before.

i feel more comfortable chewing mint gums after meals coz spices may give me bad breath. plus i'll have no problem with staying too close with someone and talking my hearts out coz i'd be confident that my breath doesn't stink. brushing your teeth after meals is always the best thing to do but if you don't have a toothbrush and toothpaste or any mouthwash, mints are great alternatives.

Well i am a smoker. And i do know that most people that smoke, do keep a gum in teir bag or somthing else that would make their mouth feel and smell good after they smoked. but i do know that there were a few years that i haven't smoked, but still chewed a gum, i do not know, maybe it is the habit, and maybe i just like the fresh taste and smell that gum provides me.

I am not much into chewing gum or candies for that matter. I don't how this started, I guess it was in highschool when a teacher commented that it was not ladylike to be chewing gums. So there, it stuck in my mind. Although there are rare times that I do chew some gum however I would throw it away after just a few minutes of chewing.

I chew gum at work continuosly. I even keep a pack in my locker for a spare. I had a piece of gum desolve in my mouth once that I was chewing and it was so gross. It was doublemint. But yes I am an adict for chewing gum. My boss asked me once if I ever stop chewing gum and I told him to take stock in the chewing gum company and he could retire on the benifites. hugs
