I went to market this morning, saw a maid go marketing with her employer - an old grandfather. Her employer is choosing the vegetables and she just stand a side with her "black face". When the old grandfather says he want to drink Lotus soup, she scold him. " Everyday soup.. soup.. soup.. Can't you don't drink soup?" I very pity the old grandfather and I think - since this maid can scold him in public with her unhappiness cooking for him, wonder how she treat him when his childrens all out to work and just leave him alone with the maid at home. Each time read newspaper saw the sub-title " Employer ill-treat the maid" but now have to change it to " Maid ill-treat the employer"

Look buddy... In the first place, how do you know that the grandfather's companion is a maid? I think judging the looks of the lady is not good idea but listening to their conversation is absurd. I mean...you can hear things but actually listening and not minding your business is kindda weird. I know you have concerns and pity... that not the case. You wouldn't know that the grandfather has a disease and can only eat soup. knowing that, the "lady" has no choice but to eat the soap as well.. everday?! Now, wouldn't be better to go for the lady's concern than the grandfather... Tough luck buddy... In our country, we listen to both sides of the story and save the pity for the real person who is the victim.

I just stand right beside them. The maid shout to the grandfather definitely I can hear they conversation. She is a maid, get pay from the grandfather's family. She has to cook for the employer althought she don't like eat soap or don't like to cook because she is a maid.

you're being judgemental by the way people look. that is so unfair IMHO. what's wrong with having a black face? maybe the grandfather's companion is a relative who is just concerned with the eating habit of the old man... pls don't be judgemental.

'Black face" meant work with not happy, not willing to cook.. NOT her look.

still your title states that she's ugly, so sorry for the misinterpretation regarding the black face... are you sure she's a maid? still evne if she's not, she should treat the old man some respect...

That's the big problem with the younger ones, they lack respect for the elderly. She couldn't be patient with just that little request for if that's what he likes, and it is not bad to his health, why not give him; perhaps that's what makes him satisfy the hunger or that's not to be digested as hard food. Younger people should also respect the older ones especially those who are really aged helpless to help themselves.

That is bad maid. She thinks that she is the boss. Maybe she do it because his employeer is old. Or maybe she was angry because the old man wants to eat food that is against his health condition so the maid scold him because maybe the children will be angry if they will know that their father eat food which is agains his health condition.

Nowadays, maids are very daring, few years ago, I saw the employer heeding the advice of a maid to buy the sauce for cooking. It seems like the maid is directing the employer to the direction to get the sauce and not the other way round. The maid even scolded the employer "stupid" in her language, WHAT A DARING MAID! If she meets me and act in this way, I will immediately send her back to her home country without any question asked.

nothing is new. very commmon to see that. That why sometime an employer of the maid had to be fierce and strict to them, if not they will climb to your head.

I do not have a maid, but maybe she has a reason to be like that. Maybe she isn't just being ugly but worried about him, only eating soup. You dont know the w hole situation, but maybe you are right, or maybe you could be mistaken and she is just scolding him to make sure he eats better and not just eat soup all of the time.

There are always good and bad maids. My family is lucky to be able to find a good one. I know and always hear my colleagues complain about their maids.
