We finally hit the sitting up milestone!! I've been trying for months to get him to sit up, and in the last 2 days he finally has done it on his own! He was a preemie so he is one years old, but adjusted age is only 9 months. I didn't think he would ever sit up! I'm so proud of him! He is so proud of himself doing it too! I guess next he will be crawling!

Thank you! We have had a lot of fun today playing while he was sitting up. I still am having a hard time believing that he is finally doing it! Thanks again.

Congratulations, lucky it's the first thing he did - my daughter was crawling before she'd sit up on her own - LOL! It took a while after crawling to sit but when she got the nack of sitting she didn't want to do it much, she'd rather stand! I'm sure he'll be running around in no time so make sure you're prepared!

I said the same thing about my son! I thought for sure he was going to crawl or walk before learning this sitting up thing. He just didnt want to do it! I was getting so frusturated because his docs were encouraging me to try to help him sit up-- and I was trying and trying and he just wouldn't. It's so amazing to me now to see him do it! I'm wondering if he will remember how to do it tomorrow. LOL

How Exciting!!!! SOon enough he'll be crawling, then pulling up and then taking his first steps!! It's so exciting when they begin sitting, and when they start to really play with things while they are sitting!!

I definitly know what you are talking about! Seeing him playing with his toys today was just as exciting as seeing him sitting up. He was reaching for things and grabbing what he wanted and not just laying on his back and playing with random things. He really KNEW what he wanted and got it! I seen him reach for his juice, take a drink and throw the bottle down. He is getting independent!

Thank you! I've baby proofed the house slightly so far. He puts everything in his mouth, so thanks for reminding me about anything small that could be in his way!

Congrats! Now you´re in for it! lol. Next he´ll be scooting around, crawling and before you know it, running and climbing all over the place! My son didn´t crawl for eons, but when he finally did, he went from crawling to standing to walking in just a couple of months! Now he can escape from just about anywhere and get into pretty much anything he likes!

Awww thanks! Today seeing him sitting there digging and playing in his toys, exploring them like he had a different perception of them-- it made me see how much he has grown up. He still loves to be rocked to sleep at night, so atleast I have that. I will probably cry the day he doesn't want to be rocked to sleep anymore :(

Congratulations honey. Do you have a book that you write all this down in? It's nice to look back, as before you know it, he will be full grown. :)

I have a baby blog that I type onto almost everyday for him. I wanted a baby book to write in, but never got one. I started blogging and forgot all about wanting the book. I also have tried to start a scrapbook for him-- I guess I could jot some things from his blog on that. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm wondering how long it will take him to figure out crawling! He has a hard time with tummy time because he has a trach and is on a vent for a good part of the day. He does get on his belly though and has started bringing his knees up-- so I think it's just a matter of time.

Congratulations! What an accomplishment huh? I remember teaching my baby how to walk, it was so much fun. Don't forget to babyproof your house, crawling is not far behind. They grow up so fast! My baby just got married, that was quite a milestone. You've got a little time to prepare for that one.

Luckily my house is pretty baby proof right now-- but I'm sure it could use more. My friend brought her children over the other week and I was watching at the things they did wondering if my son was going to get into the same things. Atleast I kinda have a rough idea of what to hide and lock up. I think the biggest thing for us is going to be the litter box! LOL

I still can't believe how he went from not sitting up 2 days ago--- to totally sitting there like he knew how to for months. It's insane how fast he got it... even though it took us months to finally get it. LOL! I'm waiting for him to crawl now!
