I would have loved to have attended the concert that princes William and Harry arranged, in memory of Princess Diana's memory. It was held at Wembley football stadium, and about 63000 people attended. Security was very tight, due to the london would be car bombers, and the crash at glasgow airport. Elton John opened the concert, with one of his songs, and he was singing the last song. The two princes were hoping he would sing the version of candle in the wind, that he sang at Diana's funeral. Initially Elton John said he would never sing that song again. So lets he hope he did.

I would like to be able to attend, very good location and great reason. I am glad that boys are able to remember their mother...

Oh I don't know what happened I missed out on some of your discussions, there was no alert in my mailbox. Anyway I watched it with my husband on DSTV, channel 37 a channel dedicated to Diana for the whole week. It is such a pity you couldn't see it. It was fantastic, a bit long but I am sure everyone enjoyed it. Elton didn't sing the song though, but there was a very touching moment when Rod Stewart sang Sailing. Everybody was singing and it was just Awesome! I think you are right she would have been so proud of her two boys. What an extraordinary human being! I am besotted with her all the years, and it is such a pitty that she is no longer with us. The very last insert at the concert was a home video that the two boys showed when she was still a baby, and then snippets when she started walking ah it was very touching, I cried so much, my eyes were swollen like a bullfrog's

it would've been fitting but too sad for a celebration. (especially with being followed by the closing home videos of Diana as a child set to Queen's - These Are The Days Of Our Lives) He didn't perform it - he stuck to his principles and I respect him for that. Don't respect him for not showing for ages and making the concert run late (nearly 30minutes) ended up feeling sory for Rickey Gervais who had to desperetly fill and was dying of embarresment - the crowd forced him to do David Brent's dance and he really, really didn't want to do it then in a moment of "I realy do not want to to be here and would rather die than spend one more second on this stage" he did the "chubby little loser" song that was origanaly an attack on him on Extras. Elton did Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting and Tiny Dancer (but didn't do it justice), then some other songs. Don't know which ones because my mum phoned me up. He did Your Song at the begining which was good but not exactly appropiate.
