Come On, Own Up... Are You Ticklish? lol

My grandchildren always want to tickle and be tickled and often, I can control myself, but sometimes they catch me unawares and tickle under my feet whilst I'm not looking. Well... that's the most ticklish part of me, I think, and I nearly hit the ceiling when they decide to do that... they think it's great fun. The little one can't stop laughing at me. I'm ticklish in a few other places too, some of them not mentionable on here, but the back of my knees for instance. I'm not ticklish under the arms or in the ribs any more... that just irritates. Are you ticklish? :)

lol - i can just imagine the sweet torture of your grandchildren tickling you! I am extremely ticklish in almost every part of my body - the worst places though are my feet and my waist - I drop like a ton of bricks if someone tickles my waist! xxx

I remember a time, years ago... or at least, I was reminded by my eldest granddaughter the other day. It was when my grandson was alive, and about five or six years old, so she was quite small, being two years and three months younger than he. We went to Butlins Holiday Camp in Minehead, and were between going out times... I think it may have been quite early in the morning, or at lunchtime... I was lying on the bed, and they both came through and started tickling me, and thought it hilarious that I couldn't stop laughing. She recalled that three weeks ago, and reminded me that it was the funniest moment she remembered of times spent with me. lol. Don't you just love em... she would only have been about 3!!! Brightest Blessings.

You're welcome, my friend. Yes, I supposed tickling the kids to get them out of a sulk, or crabbit, as you call it, came down through my family because my uncle used to do that to us. lol Brightest blessings. xx

Oh goodness, yes, extremely so, and I detest being tickled also. My partner can not leave my feet alone and I could cheerfully strangle him some days. It is also awkward when I attend for ultrasound scans, and I think the scanner could throttle me too at those times because it is so hard to keep still!
@shelagh77 (3643)

Yup, and it doesn't make you popular either. I did have one funny experience with the scanner though, it was a cancer scare and my sister in law went with me and we were both a bit anxious, and the scanner said she could see TWINS in there! Oh my! Apparently my face was a picture and my Sister in Law went through half a box of tissues drying her eyes envisaging the reactions of my Father and my Partner to that little bit of news. The scanning lady certainly broke our tension and it is a good job there weren't twins in there as I would have delivered on the spot with the shock of it all! Oh, and I was all clear after that too!

How funny... did you ever find out what was showing on the scanner. It says a lot for the health authorities, don't you think? lolol.

Oh yes... the scanner! lol. They always seem to tickle. I'd forgotten that one. Thanks for reminding me. Brightest Blessings.

I can understand that. I think if you're tickled too long, the element of surprise has gone and it becomes painful rather than tickly. Brightest Blessings.

hiya, yes im very ticklish especially my feet to i hate it when people tickle them i panic lol
@Darkwing (21583)
13 Jul 07
Lol... well I wouldn't say I panic but rather, go into hysterics. My feet are too sensitive to tickling, and I don't much like people tickling me there, either.

I used to be ticklish in all those places, but now it seems just to be my feet. The others I can bear, unless of course, somebody has a feather to hand. lol. Brightest Blessings.

I'm the same, Gabs. I hate my feet to be tickled, yet underneath my feet is the most ticklish spot, as with the itching. Brightest Blessings. xx

Actually - no! Which always annoys my partner, because he is very ticklish but he can never retaliate with me! LOL! I remember when I was a child, my Dad was always playing with me and trying to tickle my feet, and I didn't react at all! Some people may say "no sense - no feeling" - but I will keep out of this one!!
@Darkwing (21583)
4 Jul 07
Not everybody is ticklish, but very few aren't. You're in the minority but I wouldn't relate it to you not having any sense. In fact, I would say it's more sensible not to be ticklish. lol. Brightest Blessings.

@Darkwing (21583)
4 Jul 07
Yes, it is like a form of torture when people want to carry on and on doing it. I get angry when this happens because much as I like to laugh, it begins to hurt after a while. Brightest Blessings.

I enjoy tickling my nephew and niece as they are ticklish and easy to invoke laughter and smiles out of them when they are moody. At times, they would tickle back and it sort of end up we having fun by ourselves. I feel ticklish at where most people feel ticklish. However, if I am prepared for it, the tickle have no impact on me except under the feet. lol.
@Darkwing (21583)
4 Jul 07
Yes, I love to hear children chuckling helplessly. As for the feet, yes, I think even when you know it's going to be done, you're still ticklish there. Other places though are not so susceptible to tickling. Brightest Blessings.

yup i'm very ticklish hehe. especially at my arms, waist part and back. i'm afraid to go for massages, fearing that i'll burst into laughter when they're massaging me hahaha...:P
@Darkwing (21583)
4 Jul 07
Yes, I can see your point there, especially when they're massaging your back and you can't see when they're going to make contact. I think the element of surprise makes us ticklish. Brightest Blessings.

Being tickled in the right places can be fun...but when tickled too much for too long it can become irritating. I like the back of the knees too, and right in the crook of the neck. From what I read on this discussion it depends who is doing the tickling and for what reasons that detrmines whether it is comfortable or not.
@Darkwing (21583)

I'm sorry, Perspectives... it seems this response slipped through the net somehow, and I only just came across it. Yes, I think you're right. It does depend who's doing the tickling and indeed, how gently they do it and how long. lolol. Brightest Blessings my dear Soul Sister.

I am extremely ticklish and just about everywhere too. Sometimes during unmentionable moments in the room ment for sleeping, just a slight touch will send me into a laughing fit. Of course, the other half thinks its very funny and keeps doing it.lol. My oldest grandson also likes to be tickled but he doesn't ever tickle me back. Hes only three so maybe he just hasn't learned yet the show he will get if he tickles me. I'm sure he will figure it out soon.
@Darkwing (21583)
4 Jul 07
Yes, I'm sure your grandson will find that out soon, and don't you always find that if somebody finds out you're ticklish, they just HAVE to keep doing it. It becomes an obsession with them. lol. Brightest Blessings.

I used to be quite ticklish before. Before whenever my parents wanted to tickle me, they did. Even my uncle, my sister and all of hem just tickled me for fun. I was quite ticklish actually. But with the passage of time, somehow I have lost that ticklish feeling. I don't get tickled so easily now. All the ticklish areas of my body have turned a bit numb to the sensation. The most ticklish ares that i have or must say had in my body are my underarms and my side belly. I couldn't stand getting tickled there. I do still feel ticklish in my feet but that is quite less for that sort. Its not the intensity that can make me jump out. As I told before that I have lost my ticklishness, but not completely. I still get tickled if its my beloved tickling me. But now I only get tickled around my belly and only when I have dropped guard. Any ways I still ;like tickleing others, and seeing them jump around with that. Making them laugh uncontorlably. My GF is quite ticklis as well, aroud her belly. I never miss a chance to tickle her ever. I like seeing her smile. Take Care MAy GOD Bless YOU

I think you hit the nail on the head there, my friend. People can't resist tickling when they want to hear you laugh or see you smile. They feel good when that happens. Brightest Blessings.

Yeah im usually pretty ticklish but only when other people touch me when I touch my self it dosnt bother me but if someone pokes me in the stomach I get ticklish I guess my feet is the most ticklish like even if I touch it sometimes I would laugh and I hate being ticklish wish I wasnt.
@Darkwing (21583)

Yes, you're right. Strange when you try to tickle yourself, it doesn't happen. I think it must be the element of surprise, as Raphael said. If they catch you off guard, then it tickles. Brightest Blessings.

Well yes, I think people should know when they need to stop. Some just keep on and on, and in the end, it hurts. Brightest Blessings.
