I always keep them, because there are a lot of good hackers on this world and I am afraid that someone will hack my bank account! How about you, do you keep your ATM receipts?

I keep the ATM receipts for a month or so, and get my transactions entered in my bank pass book, and verify that if any spurious transactions have occured inbetween, after making sure of it i usually dispose the receipts.

I used to keep all mine, but I had troubles keeping them all the time specially if I am in a rush. So what I did was incorporate my ATM with my bankbook. Everything is recorded and counterchecked there. So when I use my ATM, I just keep the receipt then check and balance on my passbook when I update. Afterwhich, I can throw all those receipts away. =) Things you would NOT want to see happen at the ATM * You go to get a balance inquiry, and instead of printing out a receipt the screen says: "Not worth wasting paper", and ejects your card. You try to get a balance inquiry, and the screen says: "Account not found." and keeps your card. * You insert your card, and try to get some cash, and the ATM laughs and spits out your shredded card. * You withdraw some money to pay some bills, count it, and the screen says: "What, you thought there was some EXTRA there? HA!", and ejects your card clear across the room. * You think you've got $100 in your account and go to take out $50, and the screen says: "Not in this lifetime." and laughs as you bang on the machine, trying desperately to get your card back that the machine has taken. * You go to the ATM, and there's a picture of you a-la-"Most Wanted" staring forlornly at the ATM camera with a caption that reads: "Wanted for trying to get water from a dry well." =)

I don't use ATM machines right now, though I may do in the futurem in which case I say I would keep them for perhaps a few months and shred them after 3-6 months, that sort of thing. To be safe but too paranoid!

I trash all mine, but only after I have ran them through the shredder at home. We shredd everything even junk mail. Who knows who goes through your mail or what goes on? I always like to be on the safe side because I have had someone try fraud with my bank account.

I wait until I get home, then I record them, and after I do that, I will put them through the shredder. I do not trust just throwing them into the garbage as anyone can pick them up and use them to pretend to be me. We do not have that much room for trash, so we have to shred most of our papers with our addresses on, except for the ones we keep for income tax and stuff that is on warranty and might need fixing before the warranty is up.

No, I do not keep ATM receipts. I can always check the position of my account through account pass-book and through internet too.

I usually tear them into small pieces before i throw them in the trash bin. I don't keep them unless they're bill atm receipts.

I usually throw them in the trash. I don't have that much anyway hackers would just be wasting their time.

I sometimes keep it and sometime don't, since the receipts won't normally show the full account number in our banks ATM, it won't bring much trouble if some one else get it. Andy

No I dont keep them.As soon as I have got my receipt from the ATM Machine I just look at it and put it in the trash.I already have lots of bills and papers stashed in a file at home.Keeping ATM receipts is only going to add to the junk as I know I will never ever have a look at them again.

I keep my ATM receipts until my transactions show up on my on-line statement. When they have shown up, and the transactions have cleared, I put the receipts into the paper shredder. I don't need strangers finding my information.

I usually keep then until I don't need them anymore. I tear them up as small as i can and split up the peices so that they are not in the same garbage bag :)

Regarding with my ATM transactions I usually tear them up. I don't keep them for it will just add bulk in my wallet. And of course I don't want somebody to see or interfere with my accounts.

Hello liyan97, No I don't keep my ATM receipts and I just throw them in the trash. Before I do though I tear them up into small peaces first. Also my banks ATM receipts doesn't list my bank account number on the ATM receipts anymore and you will just see the letter XXXXXXX instead of the actual number. :-)

I tend to keep them because I keep receipts for everything. Plus, I had a friend who got $13.00 of gas one time and they charged him $130.00 but he had the receipt to prove the mistake so ever since then I've kept receipts for everything just to be sure that I don't get ripped off for deposits and things. But when my boyfriend goes through my wallet and starts throwing my receipts away, he rips them up into super tiny pieces, even if it's a receipt from McDonald's or something.
