As long as I have to be up I might just as well have fun. My husband Ed is sleeping. My two cats are sleeping. I want to be sleeping but I can't. LOL Don't I sound pittifull? I should just be glad that I have mylot to help me out. Are you glad you have mylot on nights like this? Thank God I get some new sleeping pills tomarrow. Who out there needs sleeping pills to sleep?

Maybe your getting the Mylot addiction, I used to always come on here when I couldn't sleep, I used to get a lot of posts in too, but i discover having a little Baileys irish Cream in milk before I go to bed seems to do the trick for me, and I don't seem to be having my anxiety attacks either...

I am normally up at this time, which by the way, its after 4 here. I am a night owl. Its quieter at night and I can get more done. I'll probably be going to bed around 6. I heard there was a new sleeping pill thats better for you. I think its called Lunesta, not sure of the spelling on that.

I am using sleeping pills right now. I am feeling really bad psycologicly since tomorrow I have the dreadful surgery coming up. The sleepingpills have definately helped me through this haard time, without them I doubt that I would have gotten any sleep at all.

I can do the same thing if I have sleep during the day. Sometimes I am really tired, can't even make my hand to type a single word, so I better, go to sleep. ~mar

I often heard on TV commercials about some food supplements and vitamins and taking them everyday may help us to become active more. But still we need to go bed... this is vital. ~mar

Are you still thinking about what has happened to you at cafemom? Don't think about it. Just leave it behind to have a good sleep without your mind bothered by anybody and anything. You don't really need sleeping pills and still you won't fall asleep even if you have taken some sleeping pills if your mind is so active. Ok? Have a sound sleep, friend.

I quite often have trouble with insomnia, and I'm also glad to have myLot to keep me busy on nights when I can't sleep. I used to take sleeping pills sometimes to help me get to sleep, but I try not to take them unless I really need to. The doctor gave me some, but I quit taking them after a while. I prefer to just take Tylenol PM occasionally if I need to. They usually help, and I think that they are probably better for me.

My grandma takes sleeping pills for insomnia. To make matters much worse, my grandpa lost his feet to diabetes and other things, and has been reduced to an infantile state from strokes. He is almost totally dependent now. He'll wake her up at four o'clock in the morning to go #2. She's lucky if she can get back to sleep after three hours, and it's even worse when she has to go into the den and watch television while he stinks up the bedroom.

OMG your poor grandma. She must get so tired. Do you help her take care of him? Where I live the state and county help people like that. They will pay someone to come to your home to help take care of people like your grandfather. Tell her to check that out.

Sleep has always been an issue for me ever since I was in my early thirties. I have gone through long periods, months at a time, of having insomnia. It is always nice to know that there is a place to go at any hour where you are welcome and not alone. I'm sure there are other insomniacs here at three in the morning along with people from around the world who have already begun their day. As for sleeping pills, yes, I have taken them. I have taken both prescription, non-prescription and herbal products. Mostly I rely on herbal products now, but I always say that if you need to take sleeping pills, then by all means take them. The newer medications are much safer and less addicting and you get a good night's sleep which can make all the difference in the world.

It's a little after midnight here and everyone is sound asleep but me. I wish I could sleep, but I'm wide awake. I haven't ever taken sleeping pills, but I may need to start if I can't sleep when everybody else does. My problem is that I am just more alive at night. I can get more done at night then in the daytime. So I like to stay up late and then sleep late in the mornings.

Nope, I'm grateful that I do not have to pop in sleeping pills in order to sleep. But sometimes I do have trouble getting to sleep. When this happens, I always have a good book to read. As you said, might as well have fun:P

I had the option of taking some sleeping pills but I refused, I have children so I dont want to be zonked out. But everynight I am up...I usually do all the housework (besides vacuum cleaning), or sit on here. That way my days are free to relax and do whatever and not have to worry about the housework.

I don't know if the state or county will pay for that here, but she does have a lady come to the house three days a week to give him a shower. They both get SSI on top of his retirement, and I believe they have other sources here and there. PG&E also covers part of our bill, because he is missing not one, but both feet. I am always the one who rolls him on and off the bed, as I am the only one strong enough. The new mattress is a little bit shy of a foot higher than his wheelchair, and he weighs 300 pounds. I will push his wheelchair around, and on/off the van. I will dress him, give him his urinal, and roll him on/off the toilet. She has to wipe him, though. That's where I draw the line. :S

Why don't you check it out for them. The county just bought my husband a new hospital bed. They got me mine too. They got us lift chairs and they are gitting Ed a power wheel chair. They got us lots of little things too. All so we can live here and not in a nurseing home. :D

Well, my friend, I wish it wasn't true but I can relate to you on this one. Sleeping pills are my friends, but I will only take them at about nine or ten at night. If it gets later than this before I realize I'm going to have a hard time falling to sleep then I am in trouble. I just don't want to run the risk of being too drowsy to wake up in the morning when my son needs me. So instead I just end up being tired most of the day. That is a lot better than a medicated sleepy... I'm sure you know what I mean if you take sleeping pills.

When I can't sleep during the night, I often visit mylot again. I come here for money, but I earn too little, I don't know whether I come here or not. Why do you come here? for money, kill time or make friends? Are you happy here? How much money do you earn per day?

It is funny. I do not need any sleeping pills or anything to get to sleep, but I wake up very early in the morning and cannot get back to sleep. I am usually out of be by 3 or 4 in the morning. I only really average about 5 hours of sleep a night. Probably not too healthy. :) cheers,

Some people don't need as much sleep as others. Men can get by on less then most women I've heard. I've always need a lot of sleep. My husband didn't need a lot in the past but now he needs a lot too. :)

There are just some days when it is not easy to just fall asleep. It is a good thing that we now have mylot to fall back on when that happens. But these days i am some how loosing steam about making posts here at mylot. May be because there are some things like TV that take my mind off mylot once in a while.
